I made an image of my hard drive on a USB drive. When I boot the computer from the boot disk the USB drive isn't listed in the window where I am supposed to select the location of the .tib backup file. Why not? I have done this before and the USB drive was listed.

Did you have ext HD 'hooked up' FIRST? Sometimes I forget to do it in that order myself.

This happened to me just recently (it always showed up previously). I simply switched off the external and re-started it then rebooted the boot disk. I'm using ver 9 build 3677 in a BartPE configuration.

I am using the Acronis boot disk I created with the program.
Doesn't restarting reboot with the bootdisk? I am trying to put the image on a new hard drive I want to use in this computer. I have done this before with a previous edition of TI.

    Hello SRC47,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

We are sorry for delayed response.

Please make sure you use the latest build (8101) of Acronis True Image 11 Home. To get access to updates you should first register your software. Don't forget to recreate Acronis Bootable Rescue Media after updating.

If the latest build doesn't solve the problem, please try booting with "acpi=off noapic" parameter as it is described in Acronis Help Post.

Please also try switching "USB legacy support" (or "Enchanced USB support", or similar) setting in computer BIOS.

If the issue persists, could you please clarify, by "I have done this before and the USB drive was listed", do you mean that it worked before with the same bootable media, or with some previous version?

If it's the latter, please collect some information to let us investigate the problem thoroughly:

Please create Acronis Report, Windows system information and Linux system information (sysinfo.txt) as it is described in Acronis Help Post with the drive in question connected.

Then submit a request for technical support. Attach all the collected files and information to your request along with the step-by-step description of the actions taken before the problem appears and the link to this thread. To expedite the resolution we recommend you to use our Live Chat service after that. We will do our best to investigate the problem and provide you with a solution.

    Thank you.
