    Well done! :)

I have three antivirus installed, and no complications. The trick is only one should be set as your active program, I suggest NOD32 for that, and stop AVG from running so it is only "on demand" as a second opinion.

Since it is AVG I don't see why there should be a problem, it's pretty friendly with others. Just two points to remember: 1. AVG placed a boot sector scan line into your autoexec file (or your equivalent) so that needs commenting out, and 2. do remember to deactivate it as your email scanner.

The other I'm leaving as I only just got a free license for LnS so am starting to learn it now, but I'm hoping it can replace ZA Pro which is pretty heavy on this old system. :)

"MUST CALM DOWN" Ok, Can this actually be the real e-mail from Wilders Security? I'm always suspicious. Havn't opened yet. I guess I'm just leery because I never win anything. Will stand by anxiously for a reply. Can't wait to much longer the excitement is building.

    Thanks for lookin at this.

    Take care, Ray.

OK, Reporting in luckey winner ??/66........ I can't believe it.
Free licence to Nod32 v2 Award Winning AV Protection.

When I first noticed the contest it was like 66 in 5000. Hmmm, well I
have .0132 of a chance like everyone else.

I've lurked this forum for quite a spell and gathered so much information
about, you guessed it "security". I've gone from a 2 awareness to about
a 6+ now. Still lots to learn.

I'll be sure to put Nod32 v2 to good use as ironically my current AV is
set to expire in about three weeks. Timing couldn't have been better.

A BIG THANKS to Paul Wilders, Eset, And the Wilders Team who go above
and beyond to reach and assist average users like myself to make the net
a safer enviroment to be in.

    Take care, Ray

Many thanks for the NOD32 free licence.

I'm starting to get used to it and trying to find out the best way to use the AMON as it seems to make my mouse stop working when starting some programs... JV16 seems the worst... so just getting the hang of the exclusion setup.

I am very pleased with the ease of the interface and the auto updates are excellent.

i also received a "congratulations" in my web-based email account. i am always wary about "you won" messages in my web-based account (there are a lot of them) but since it said "support wilders.org" as the sender, i crossed my fingers and replied to the message in my pop3 account. i hope my instincts are right.

if the message is authentic, THANK YOU very much Wilders. But i am already a licensed TDS3 operator and just renewed my NOD32 license. I wish i would win some other software.

One question, though, is there a way of verifying if the congratulation e-mail (web-based) is authentic or not? Replying to it may defeat the purpose of being wary if the sender was spoofed.

    More power to Wilders!

    LOL Zak!:)

I know that feeling, I got a virus alert from Digitaltune recently and seeing my prefs are for NO email contact at all, I FWD the email to them and reported they were being spoofed!

Although it never has happened in many years, email spoofing can happen. That said: check the full header, and keep your antivirus updated ;)

Thanks. But "power isn't our aim - providing support is :)

    hello Paul,

"Check your inbox; our support should have replied by now."

Support had already sent me a reply. that removed my worries.

"Thanks. But power isn't our aim - providing support is :)"

I now know that I am into the right group and forum. Humility is a virtue but giving credit where it is due is also a virtue. I cannot agree more. The forum is meant for support and the quality of the members provides it the power to get going.

Again, thank you very much to Wilders and NOD32 for this great gift and this great support forum.

    I got this e-mail on Aug 12:

    [font=Verdana color = red]

    Hello minacross,

As announced in our mailing from June 16th 2003, we are
giving away free licenses for top notch security software
as soon as our Security Support Board has welcomed the
    5,000 registered member:

    http://www.wilderssecurity.com/index.php?board=11, see
the "5000 members -free software licenses!" thread.

We have passed that milestone in the meanwhile - and
you are one of the randomly chosen lucky winners!

In order to make sure you'll receive a free license from
a randomly chosen software, these are the conditions:

    - reply to this email within 1 week from now, using a
    non web based email account;

    - Mention your registered user name as well as your
    real name;

    - in case you've registered using a web based email
    account, refer to this email.

In case you fail one or more of the conditions mentioned
above, we have no choice other then removing you from the
    list of winners.

Our goal is - after examination - to inform you about the
software license you've won within 2 weeks from now.

In case this email bounces, does not arrive in time, we
don't take any responsibility. Furthermore, our decisions
are final, and not open for discussion in any way.
