I add that IS has smart HIPS, as for TS - it seems doesn't.

Sure it does. On running a particularly nasty malicious file the other day I received four separate alerts, which protected against modifications to the Login user interface, the User Environment configuration, as well as an autostart registry change. Also alerted to (and blocked by default) were the setup of scheduled tasks by the malware.

Thank you. I'm glad it is there. Are HIPS the same in IS and TS?

I assume they are, but as I don't see any reason to use IS it is only an assumption. However when TS initially came out the HIPS was indeed less effective, but this has been long since remedied.

thanks @cruelsister for covering for me.

I'd say that TS is quieter than IS, but not less effective.
You can't really control the HIPS [not as customizable as COMODO], but I kinda hate 30 seconds countdown when something happens, wish for persistent prompt when I am not at the keyboard.

Bitdefender/Avira frequent updates are in the works/planned for the near future, probably this or next year
    Undetermined at this time.
    Speculation: all products.

I'm pleasantly surprised at how light 360 Internet Security feels compared to Avast Free. Running applications and surfing the Internet seem to be faster.

False positives seem to be an issue, though. It keeps picking up Steam's updates for Counter Strike Global Offensive as malware.

When I used it, whenever it tried to upload a file for testing, the upload always failed. What use it that feature, if it never works?

At least they make in incredibly easy to add a dected file to the whitelist to prevent future redetection.

I removed it because It detect a lot of false positives in my system. My excel macros can't work although I have added to whitelist. Maybe 360IS has a good detection rate and light on my system but I feel really annoying because of its too sensitive behaviour engine.

I came across 360 browsing through wilders, glad I did. I'm not so big on using windows anymore but a lot of people I know, Usually when fixing a computer have a process of different scan engines or a format, then I'll put Avast! on. Avast doesn't seem to be as simple as it used to be, and especially with new users you just want to set and forget. (don't get me wrong, you can do this with avast!, if you put time into it) 360 TS is great out the box, it's just simple, and works. really glad I found this AV.

I think their heuristics is too aggressive and needs to be tuned.

Still no reply from Qihoo about their Chrome extension for 360 IS.

Lots of people stay with IS because of its simplicity and lightness

But qihoo seems to care more about its detection rate....

Detection rate is important I'm just thinking that BitDefender is a hell of an engine. Not sure why their Facebook post says two more engines though.
