I'm pretty sure I read about my problem in this thread but couldn't find it again.

My mouse pointer when in the boot disk recovery environment only moves up and down. The previous version, 2289, it worked fine.

Evidently you screwed up somewhere along the way.

I am trialing your product as a possible replacement for Norton Ghost. It so happens 2302 came along a few days after I started testing 2303. Can't say that my (I mean, your) mouse problem makes me a happy camper.

Ghost was a b!tch to get any support although their product was good. Acronis seems to have better support but can't say as much about your product (so far). Some people would say that putting out new builds every week is a good thing. I say it's an indication of a product that left the door before it was time. All too common nowadays in the software business.

Is the mouse problem recognized by you as a problem and when will it be fixed. Not everyone is comfortable using the keyboard. Some folks would't even know how to navigate without a mouse.

btw.. using an MS wireless Explorer 2.0 mouse.

Same problem here. In my case with a corded Intellimouse Explorer 4.0 and you're right, it's very annoying to use the keyboard

    Same here...you broke 2302!!!
I have a Wireless Intelimouse Explorer2 mouse (USB) and the latest Intellipoint S/W 5.40.633.0.

    This used to work!

I wonder when Acronis will respond to this new problem?
    Hey Acronis..."Trick or Treat"!

Using Linux as their standalone OS is the cause of a lot of the reported boot CD problems IMO.

Why not use a Windows PE? Yes, it's a lot bigger and it takes longer to boot up but you know it's going to support everything that 'real' Windows supports.

But I guess the main reason is that the Linux they use is probably free whereas MS in all likelihood charges for it's PE.

...but it worked 1 build ago!

P.S. I can not even get the BartPE plug in as I did not register TI8. It will not let me d/l it with only TI9 registered!

So I guess Acronis doesn't want to own up on this one based on their lack of a response. Or is it because I am not registered? I was not forced to register in order to post so I assumed I would get a response. Why do something when you don't have to? :)

I have the same problem to with a Microsoft Standard Wireless Mouse, but when I start TI into the safe mode, all works fine!

But don't you lose some functionality in Safe Mode as opposed to Full Mode?

Regardless, the mouse should be working in all modes. It did in prior versions.

And I still say that they should get rid of Linux for their standalone environment. I'm using Windows not Linux. Why mix apples and oranges? Use Linux for Linux systems not for Windows. Too many incompatibilities. USB/Firewire support for one.

    Use Windows PE Acronis.

    Still no comment from Support!

Anyway, I still have not been able to build a BartPE cd, so have not mentioned Plugin issue to Acronis.

Also, the Linux drivers on the Acronis Boot CD make for VERY slow backups to USB2 drives!

    Hello all,

We do apologize for the delayed response.

First of all please make sure that USB legacy support is disabled in BIOS settings.

If the problem remains please create the sysinfo.txt file (please see Acronis Help Post for the instructions) and send it to Acronis Support along with the link to this thread and the full model name of your mouse. This will allow us to investigate the problem and help you with the solution.

    Thank you.

It depends on the USB device you have. One of my Maxtors takes 90 minutes to verify an image that should only take about 10 minutes. Another USB device works just fine.

I tried the same verification using BartPE with the TI8 plugin and that ran just fine.

Another nail in the Linux coffin if you ask me.

This is fine for a TEMPORARY circumvention (if it works). But if this is THE fix it stinks.

i have the same problem. wireless logitech mouse non-functional with the rescue disc of ti9 2302.

funny thing is: it was perfectly functional with the resue disc of ti9 2289.

it has nothing to do with a bios-setting. it is a acronis bug. one of the many.

please solve the problems with your software.

May i ask why you even bothered to update? If it aint broke, dont fix it. I run into various problems using acronis after updates too, however i actually need to use newer versions because of the support for newer hardware since i am using it in a workstation environment with lots of new pc's that werent always supported before.

I had the same problem with both the mouse and keyboard not working. I used the temporary workaround by pressing the F11 key at boot up and entering a linux command from this thread:
    https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=55317
Will this problem be fixed in future builds? I don't want a permanent workaround.

OK, sent sysinfo.txt although it is 31K it will not display in Windows, but in Linux it is OK. I guess Windows can't read devfs.

ATTN: Support. I sent an image of the sysinfo floppy. It has 2289 and 2302 sysinfo files.

Yes, 2289 DOES work, but 2302 does not.

    Hello everyone!

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

I'm glad to inform you that the problem with the improper functioning of the wireless USB mouse with Acronis True Image 9.0 build 2302 rescue disc has already been investigated and will be fixed in the next build of Acronis True Image 9.0.

While the new build is not released, as a workaround, I can suggest you to boot with the "usbmouse=off" parameter as it is described in Acronis Help Post ("usbmouse=off" instead of "acpi=off noapic"). It should solve the problem.

    Thank you.

    Dear Acronis,

This issue is STILL not resolved in True Image 9 build 2323.

I have a corded Intellimouse Explorer 4.0 - when I move up and down the cursor does not move, when I move left and right it moves up and down.

I would not mind if I could use the keyboard to create images, but when I get up to the comments section, using the Tab button to select the Next button, as I had been doing up to that point, instead creates an indent in the comments - thus I cannot continue from this stage!

How long till this issue is resolved please?

    All the best
    Daniel
