    Opera

    + it's not a beta
    + speed
    + security
    + M2 mail client option
+ passes all browser security tests thrown at it

    http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=11975

I could go on... but don't feel it's necessary - the Opera browser speaks for itself

As long as you don't use IE it's fine by me. But Opera is destined to be no more than a bit player in the next browser wars I'm afraid because it requires $$$ (ad supported version not withstanding).

Firefoxing on my windows and linux systems.
And I don't mind it's not a 1.0. If every 1.0 was as stable, fast and user friendly as the fox, we would live in a different world.

I can't believe so far only 3 people have confessed to using IE (actually 2 + 1 IE shell). I know this is a security forum and the numbers using IE won't be as hiigh (typically 80-90% at least), but this is ridiculous.

I wonder if there is some selection effect really, where IE users feel shy and guility that they are using IE and not some other browser.

Come on IE users, come here and be counted. We won't laugh at you (not much anyway).

Why? I'm a nobody. I'm sure the forum gains more from learning the choice of browsers by such an expert (700 posts in 3 months!) as yourself. :)

It's not IE for sure! But surely you have guessed by now?

If you don't want to vote in the poll I started, then don't.

Your post is far more negative then anything I have said so far.

Well, I've responded mozilla because all I have used in the past couple weeks is Firefox and it's done everything I've needed. Had I answered before this, I would have been another "IE" and to be honest the only other browser I ever used at all was Netscape and that was never on my own machine. Obviously IE is still on the system for Windows Update, but I've removed the shortcut and quickstart. In the end, JayK may well have saved me from future trouble by always pointing out that IE just isn't a very secyre browser. ;)

    [move]Opera... Opera... Opera....[/move]

Hi guys :) Hope everything is fine with all of you... I love to see browsers still arise so much passion from websecurity addicts ! :)

Tabbed browsing, mail client, advanced security features, one click preferences access, powerful cookie manager, still to be improved referrer handling, stability, quickness, intelligence, unlimited tweaking capacities, open forum where beta testers can simply jump in and participate, mouse gestures to pilot the browser using mouse alone if one so desires, innovative spirit and technology, never ending search for improvement and perfection, and so much more... You name it.

Curious to know if any other browser on the market does possess a feature Opera wouldn't... Might be... Dunno.

I think the only thing which could possibly prevent Opera from becoming 90% of the Internet users's number one choice is the ad banner - though it's very easy to live with it after all.

Anyway, I still have much respect for the Mozilla teams and their open source philosophy. Although I don't think Firefox/Mozilla - though the best contenders - are anywhere near Opera's impressive richness and polished excellence by now, I nevertheless wish these products the best luck possible. No doubt I would be riding on these ones should Opera not exist.

Regards, have fun, see you soon. ;)

    Crockett
