I believe he means an updated version. They are only calling it a sp1.
Which when comes out of beta will go into the updater of the program.

LinkScanner has been causing sporadic crashes in IE7 in Vista for me, I do not know if it is a known issue, but I hope it will be fixed with SP1...

i am testing it now. For now i can tell you active x compatibility issue is fixed.
But the rest still needs some work.
I really cannot tell you too much because of the agreement with the beta program but at least in my experience this part is fixed.

Has the SP1 version reached final release yet?

A previous post listed the SP1 version as build 111 - how does this relate to the release version numbering.

The current release file is avg_free_stf_en_8_100a1315.exe
Is the 100a number significant or misleading?

I assume you mean that the 100a number is not related to the SP1 build number?

Stll not clear on my original question:
Has the SP1 build reached the current live release version yet?

No, build 100 is not AVG 8 SP1. SP1 has not been released to the public yet. Commercial versions are still at AVG 8.0.93, for your information.

beta testing is over june 16 so i would think sometime after that they will release the new version after that.
If you have the Pro version you will see it via your updater.

Just in case anyone is still tracking this thread:
It appears the SP1 update has just reached the paid for AVG product and should filter through to the update servers and the free product very soon. Version number on the paid for product is Build 8_131a_xxxx

    See this thread:
