    Hi Frederic,

You mentioned that there will be a new coming release of LnS 2.06p2 at https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=185526&page=2

Can you tell us more of what's coming next ?

Moreover can you tell us what is the development plan on LnS ? 2.07 or 3.0 ? When is it scheduled ?

    Thanks & Best Regards

    Hi General Noel,

The 2.06p2 will contain mainly a new Stateful Packet Inspection engine in addition to the TCP SPI.
This new SPI will handle any protocol using a simple way to associate Req/Resp packets (ARP, UDP, DNS, DHCP, ICMP...), and it will be completely customizable through rules (with the RawRuleEdition plugin). Of course these rules will have to be created by experts ;) but can be imported and used by anyone.

    Some other improvements:
    - a way to block any traffic before looknstop.exe is started
    - a new service for Vista to have the security center aware of Look 'n' Stop presence
    - if possible, a way to automate the MSVC++ SP1 library during the setup

Too early to talk here about the other versions

    Regards,

    Frederic

    Hi , Frederic

Good to heard that LnS will improve SPI at the 2.06p2 , i have one question , Will LnS improve applications Rule's setting on the 2.06p2 ?
on 2.06p1 or above versions , when rule is working , other applications can get on / inject that rules , it's so danger , i give an e.g.

    "P2P client rule" ,
local port 1024-5000 , destination port was ALL / 1024-65535 , when this rule is working , other applications can inject / use this rule to connect / access to network because it's changed to the Global Rule , will LnS improve this ? Other applications cant use / inject by other rule , hope you can get my question lol Sorry 4 my bad english :)

    This sounds great, Frederic :)

I will put this on my wish list for Christmas
And now I am asking me, if "Santa Frederic" makes it to deliver this package until Dec. 25th ;)

    Ho-Ho-Ho,
    Thomas :)
