What is your security setup these days?

There isn't anything on the internet that would dare attack your pc! Good line up!

 

I usually just temporary disable SRP when installing software.
Sometimes installers create temporary files (executables) in Temp folder or some other user space folders. In that case installation would fail if SRP was enabled. Disabling SRP is just more convenient...

 

Finally running latest OA + EAM.
Upgraded my PC hardware . . . Quad Core CPU, 6GB of RAM and Velociraptor HDD.

Next step: GPU!

 

Win7 Firewall with advanced Security, MSE and MBAM Real time Pro. A few on-demand scanners.

Sandboxie control settings on RAMDisk. Separate Sanboxie for Chrome, Firefox, online transactions and banking.

OpenDNS crypt

Abine TACO, ABP, Ghostery, Do Not Track Plus, WOT and a few others on Chrome.

Firefox add-ons are: ABP, Better Privacy, Browser Protect, Ghostery, Key Scrambler, No Script and WOT.

Chrome and Firefox profiles plus Temp Folders are run on the RAMDisk.

All user ids and unique passwords for all accounts are stored locally on a very strong password protected file. I am not sure if I would like to use LastPass.

Online Backup protected with a unique 64 character pass phrase. Acronis True Image plus Syncback Pro to keep my notebook and workstation in sync.

 

You got some serious overlapping going on there bud. TACO has not been updated for 2 years. Do Not Track and Ghostery are the same. Remove TACO and Ghostery. Stick with Do Not Track Plus and Ad Block Plus. What subscriptions are you using for ABP?

Fanboys List.
Malware Domains.
Easy Privacy.

 

A few points to remember:

1) "As a rule of thumb, you should not use filter subscriptions with overlapping competencies.
For example, using EasyList (mainly targeted at English-language sites)
with an EasyList supplement for your region (like RuAdList for Russian sites) is fine.
However, Fanboy's List (another list with main focus on English-language sites) shouldn't be used in combination with EasyList."

2) The ones using WOT do not need to have the Malware Domains List in their ABP!
WOT already includes the Malware Domains List

Oops...Thanks for advice. The ABP Subscriptions are Easy List, Easy Privacy and Fanboys list. I do not use IE and hence opted out of EasyPrivacy Tracking Protection List.

Very light, quiet and strong setup.

 

my new combo for now is MbamPro and WebRoot 2013 with firewall and hitmanpro ondemand

No realtime protection at the moment. Feeling more and more comfortable without it.

I have test for you. I want to see if you can keep the same setup for more then 48 hours. I think you will fail.

 

Just think if we change our clothing the way some change there security setups,we may not have to do laundry but once a year as there never on long enough to get dirty.
