I have a basic question for which I'm hoping someone can provide an informed and thoughtful answer. I keep my account passwords in an Excel file that's stored in an encrypted folder. Assuming I have no malware/spyware/ransomware etc. on my computer (maybe a bad assumption, I don't know), I'd like to know how vulnerable the following are while being connected to the internet (Windows 8 OS): 1) open Excel file (containing passwords) 2) open jpg or png file (i.e. picture of passwords) 3) open txt file in Notepad (containing passwords) 4) password copied to the clipboard It seems to me all four are just bytes in RAM, so my naive perception is that they are all equal in terms of vulnerability, but I really don't know. I hope someone on this forum does.
