I do not see much about Trend Micro. However, it seems to be very effective according to AV Comparatives. I have it on my Kindle Fire, which is Android so not necessarily a good test.

I have use KIS for years and it does OK, but I was thinking about trying TM, as my KIS expires in September.
    Any comments or experience?

    Thanks,
    Jerry

The AV-Comparatives tests show a lot of FPs, although I never had one when I used it.
When I used it a couple of years ago, there was only a very basic user forum where
Trend employees did not participate. I don't know if this has changed. For premium
support, you have to pay extra.

Thanks, Thankful. I appreciate the response. I had overlooked the number of FP. Seeing that number I am not going to consider TM further.

Aside from the false positives, I find it to be very heavy and cause slowdowns.

I have the free version on my Kindle. It does not update or provide real time protection. I have to call it up manually. I figured that Android is save enough so that real time protection was not needed. I may be incorrect. I also have MBAM free.

We have been using it at work for the last 2 years. It is mostly trouble free but lately false positives are a problem. And like Norton, when there is one you are not given any options. It just deletes the file. We probably won't use it anymore when it next expires.

This, despite their claims that they made it much lighter, it is still one of the heavier solutions out there.

Try opening more than 10 tabs in a browser and watch how it crawls to death

Trend strong point is the Webfilter , except that, nothing special.

I'd rather not do that. It's quite common to see it installed on computers I work on, as I believe a major electronics reatailer here in Australia heavily promotes it. Sometimes I remove it and replace it with something lighter.

I never come close to opening 10 tabs. But I am going to pass on it.

Funny, been using for 2 years now and it is very light no matter how many tabs I have open. Additionally, I rarely get false positives but when you do it does automatically quarantine them (can just restore and exclude).

Edit: You're going to receive differing opinions and the best bet is to try it and see for yourself. What I read in forums regarding performance, effectiveness, etc. are often different from what I experience when I use the product myself (especially when the advice is from people who are not even currently running the product).

Thanks, InfinityAz, for the help. I have been pretty well satisfied with KIS and at the present plan to keep it on my PC. On my Kindles I have Eset and Trend Micro.

Just tried it again after 6 months. It has improved a lot and it's very light. No more lag when opening multiple tabs and the GUI is smoother
