Thinking of "Dumping" Spybot

I have SuperAntiSpyware Free and MBAM for on demand scanning. I rarely ever scan with Spybot. I use Spybot mainly for the Immunization Feature and rarely for File Shredding. I also use SpywareBlaster.

I noticed that Spybot recently started adding entries to the Hosts file.

1. If I were to start using MVPS Hosts with periodic updates, would this cover most, if not all, of the entries that Spybot puts in the Hosts file?

2. What would be a good simple substitute for a File Shredder?

3. Should I "Dump" Spybot?
