As a registered user of TDS 3.. and my name on the mailing list.. why did it take me several months to track down where the DiamondCd Software Forums moved? F5 from the TDS 3 menu goes to a 404 error.

Also; is TDS 4, the promised free upgrade EVER going to be released?

    Thanks,
    Anthony Schneider

I can answer your second question - yes TDS 4 will be released. I'm not certain when, but DCS has confirmed it is in the works. :)

    Best regards,

Currently it's being delayed by the creation of a powerful unpacking engine. Currently we've successfully got all variants of UPX, Petite, ASPack and others (about 65 so far) successfully unpacking, but there's still quite a few more to do. It's not much fun to work on but the end result will be a very capable unpacker with the ability to scan inside all common 'exe packers'. TDS will become the first anti-trojan-specific scanner to have such capability :)
And you guessed it - you get it for free.

    Best regards,
    Wayne

Anthony and Blaze, see your IM.
And Blaze, i thought i mailed you before the Forums.ss3 script with which you jump in both private and wilders forum at a button click with additional your favorite music with the jukebox button in it?
I IM-ed it you now again, copy the part between the [ code] and [ / code] in a notepad for example, save as Forums.ss3 in your TDS-3\Scripts\CokeMachine folder where is also your own beloved Blaze script located, and load the thing.
If something went wrong tell me and i'll email it as an attachment, or you can grab it in the private forum in the Forums.ss3 thread.
Make sure in your forum profile set the choice on "auto-login" and save, in this wilders forum i have "always logged in" so no passwords matters here either, so you never have to deal with the password/login anymore.
So in stead of the F5 with that little basic script you have now 3 buttons to make you happy at a time.
It works with the IE browsers, btw, for other or custom browsers we need to modify the script.
Hope you both are helped out now and looking forward seeing you in the private forum too.

Don't be too confident. I think you didn't realized yet your "Revealed - why TDS has the edge over all other anti-trojan scanners" text caused a big stir.

As you all can see the last version of TrojanHunter uses parts of the GAV unpacking engine. I could imagine the next version of TrojanHunter uses the full GAV unpacking engine.

I know Michael quite well and i know he is working for a big av vendor. As far as i remember his job is the unpacking/crypting and signatures stuff and his new GAV unpacking engine is quite powerfull. So i think you should be a little bit more careful with such statements.

The only person it caused a stir with was Michael, who made what has to be the over-reaction of the year - "i don't like this paragraph, so I'm quitting the forum". We had a lot of positive comments, but Michael's were the only negative ones. But then, you can't please everyone. But GAV is an anti-virus program, it's not an anti-trojan so none of this even applies to him.

From what I could tell from the new 3.0 release of Trojan Hunter, upx.exe is included which can only unpack newer versions of UPX. It didnt seem like there were any other unpacking capabilities.

We've already developed _our own_ unpacking engine and it currently unpacks all UPX (including early versions that UPX itself can't unpack), all Petite, all ASPack, etc etc. It's working very nicely and can easily be expanded to unpack other packers, it's just a matter of finding the time to analyse and add them.

Anyway, some of us have work to do.

Why if people are so confident about their own developments "the edge" could have caused a big stir in the first place.
Wayne and cie continue developing, in the time others are losing for hunting behind every word and information they post anywhere on internet.
If mr.X is paid to work for a big AV company, what has this to do with the developments of one's own private AT project?
But this thread was about accessing the private members only forum in the first place, for which the users are provided with a cute little script
