    I am using the latest evaluation version of TrueImage 9.0. When attempting to create a bootable CD I get the message "Error Burning CD-R/CD-RW". The feature was not excluded during installation. OS is Win 2K Pro. Any advice?

    Can DVD media be made bootable?

    Hello RichCarbone,

    Perhaps something in this previous thread titled <Problem with rescue media builder> can help?

    Yes but it requires a bit more effort. Check out this thread <How to create bootable rescue DVD(s)>. You can use wdormann's original procedure based on WinISO & CDshell, my updated version of it or the most recent one I posted for UltraISO (the earlier UltraISO procedure doesn't work for True Image 9.0).

    Regards

    Oops, the second link to the bootable DVD is the same as the first to rescue media.

    Thanks for that John. I normally check that I've cut and pasted a URL correctly but obviously forgot to do it this time :oops:. Have edited the link accordingly.

    Hello RichCarbone,

    Thank you for your interest in Acronis Disk Backup Software.

    In case Menorcaman's suggestions will not help, please also try to use next tips in order to solve this problem:

    - Eject any disc from the burner prior to starting the application;

    - Proceed until the program asks for a disc and open the tray;

    - Insert a disc and then click the OK button to close the tray automatically as well.

    If that doesn't help then I would also recommend you to update third party CD writing software if any to the latest version available for free on its respective web site.

    Please also note that you should use a blank unformatted CD-R or CD-RW in order to create a bootable rescue disc.

    If nothing of the above helps then please also try to create Bootable Rescue CD in Windows Safe Mode.

    If you still will not be able to create Bootable Rescue CD then please submit a request for technical support with the subject indicating that you want to contact Alexey Popov and containing the link to this thread. I'll certainly try to provide you with the solution.

    I'm afraid that the current version of Acronis True Image does not allow you to create Bootabe Rescue Media on DVD. However, there are several unofficial ways of accomplishing this goal described in this previous thread mentioned above by Menorcaman.

    Please also note that the ability to create Bootable Rescue DVD will be implemented in the future versions of a particular product, but exact time frame for this is not decided yet.

    Thank you.
