Hi Came, there's really not much for W10 1903 in 5.31.2. The only thing really thats "important" (if you are a IE11 user) is the fix for opening new tabs, that was not working properly. If you clicked to open a new tab, a new window opened instead.

She was having an issue opening her mail with UBO, probably using too many filters. Disabling UBO was among the suggestions I gave her to test for figuring out the cause of the issue. After she disabled UBO, she could open her mails while running Firefox under SBIE. Anyway, I recommender her to use Adblock plus or to test either, ABP or UBO, but only with 2 filters, Easylist and Easy privacy. And to test her mail.

Or simply check the log to see what uBlock is blocking.

You missed it, Brummelchen. Camelia thought and reported she couldnt open outlook.com using Sandboxie and Firefox. At first, she didnt realize that UBO was the reason of her poblem, but later realized that using too many filters in UBO was the cause of her issue. Read post below.
    https://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/sandboxie-acquired-by-invincea.357312/page-209#post-2831561

Be happy, Brummelchen. Her issue is fixed. UBO is like antiviruses that advertise that they protect against millions of viruses when actually you only need to be protected against a couple of hundred thousands (the ones active in the wild). So, users end up enabling way too many filter list in UBO when actually with just a couple of filters, you area done. Anything else is redundant and can cause issues (like Camelias).

Edit: Fixed grammar for word, "else".

Rasheed some browsers like Firefox never use rundll32 but others like IE need it running all the time, and others (probably, like Vivaldi and Chrome), requires it to run when you do some functions, like printing or perhaps opening File explorer when using the browser.

elam, that's not true and you know that better than most here. ubo is nothing close to what you said. any sw or tool might end up a bad experience in the hands of a noob. ubo as is, with its defaults settings, is a(n almost) perfect content filtering tool that does exactly what you need and want it to do. @gorhill himself encourages and recommends ubo users to use it in default-deny mode and that doesn't require filters in use. you can even disable all the filters if you like.

I am entitled to my opinion (based on facts). Anyway, Came fixed her issue by unticking every filter except, Easylist and Easy privacy (my recommendation). But be happy, she kept UBO instead of switching to ABP.

What I wrote here is about UBO interacting with Firefox under Sandboxie. Anything else about UBO, you should post it in UBO thread. This reply, is one and only from me to you on this.

I have my sandboxes set to clear/empty on closing the browser automatically. In the past sometimes this did not happen and I am not sure but usually noticing the icon still having the dots I could do this manually by rightclicking the icon. Recently I am almost always getting an error message as attached and wonder why this is happening. Despite the text nothing else is using the sandbox (that I can see). sandboxie.jpg

Circuit, Veloce sounds to me like someone interested in promoting other products, the Windos sandbox, and switching away from Sandboxie. Thats his story.
See, thats the problem. You havent used SBIE in a long time, so you dont know first hand how good or bad SBIE is working. For me, Sandboxie is working great in W10 (with latest updates, including the one that came out a few hours ago) and on W7. Look at the picture that shows my W10 version, thats the one that came out today. Veloce claims that we (SBIE users) should wait before updating Windows because SBIE is bound to break. Sorry, tell him, that aint so. If it was so, I woud not have updated my W10, minutes after today's update was released.

    winver.jpg

He never mentioned Sophos but if he had, I would agree that the day Sandboxie fell in Sophos hands was a bad day for Sandboxie and for us, the users. Falling in Sophos hands is the worst thing that could have ever happened to Sandboxie. And it did. But the lead developer is still the same as when Tzuk left, and he has done a great job. Quality work and enthusiasm are his traits. Take care.

interesting thread. as andy ful (creator of hard_configurator) reiterates in his post on that thread, rehips is a reliable and solid alternative to replace sbie for 10 users (home & pro).

Hi beethoven, usually when you see that message, is your antivirus or another scanner or real time security program scanning contents as Sandboxie attempts to delete the sandbox contents. So, the scanner puts a lock on files and Sandboxie cant delete contents. What AV are you using? If this thing only happens sporadically, I would ignore it. If it happens everyday, then perhaps switching to something else will likely solve your issue. If you are in W0, you could use WD, you wont get that message, guaranteed, if you use WD. To delete contents after seeing the message, you can reboot the computer, that frees the lock on files, and then after rebooting, you ll be able to delete contents manually.

oh, come on, elam. windows sandbox is not an "other product". it's windows' native, built-in and fully and natively integrated sandboxing mechanism. so, no "promotion" going on there. veloce clearly opposes the use of sd as an alternative to sbie, and encourages the use of windows' native & built-in sandboxing mechanism.

In my post, I said, other products, Window sandbox and switching. Thats 3 different things he is promoting. By the way, he must of not read the chat and comments about the Windows sandbox that abound in the internet right now. He claims the Windows sandbox is working great, but I only see complains about it wherever and whenever I read something about it. He lives (and you, I guess) in a different world. Good bye, no more replies to you. You always flaming at me. No more today, OK. One is enough.

I did try and used it until I could not use Bookmark Buddy with it anymore. To many changes to make it work with W10.
    Worked in the old days.
Support is bad now, without Truks (I think that was his screen name).

More important: Might break other security software!
I like layers, not just one.

You made a decision and from my point of view, you made the right decision (for you, personally) to remove Sandboxie. If you had kept SBIE, and fight your way to use it along 3 or 4 other security products (the layers you are talking about), which includes at least one program that dont get along with SBIE, at some point in time, when you get hit by malware, perhaps some of the layers might fight and conflict with each other, and in the end, drop the ball, and let the malware get through. So, you did good.

I am doing the same as you, even though on the surface it might look the opposite but is not. I decided long time ago, that Sandboxie is the most important software in my computer, so to avoid conflicts and problem, I went as light as possible, no layers, nothing but Sandboxie (and NoScript) and rested the entire security of my computers on Sandboxie and my instincts. The result is my computers are always malware free and no headaches or fighting with programs to make tem work or to make them work with SBIE.

My computing experience is problem free, is not by luck that is that way. It is like that because of using Sandboxie and not using anything that conflicts with Sandboxie, or even if it doesnt conflict with SBIE, if a program doesn't work well in the computer, I am not going to use it. I dont fight with programs to make them work.
If it had been me, I would had put more weight in the value of using Sandboxie than the value of Bookmark Buddy, and drop BB. But everyone has different values. You yourself valued more BB, something I would not done.

You are wrong about Sandboxie in W10. Despite all the noise, Sandboxie has always worked well for me in W10. Let me tell you a quick story. When I got my W10 in July 2017, because of all the noise about supposed problems SBIE had in W10, I expected problems when I installed Sandboxie, but guess what, I had none. Zero problem. My computer came with 1607, and I have also used 1703, 1709, 1803 (for the longest time), 1809 (shortest time), and now 1903. In all builds, the experience using Sandboxie has been smooth. No major issue. Over the 2 years I had W10, there has been a few minor issues that affect everyone but they are so minor, is not even worth it writing about them (Edit: Unless you want me to).

Yes! Me too! Started last week after installing the beta on the latest version of Windows 10. Even after manually deleting everything in the sandbox and making sure nothing else is using the sandbox, until a reboot.

I also have the latest cumulative on Win 10 from yesterday.
I have no problems at all with Sbie, it works great with Vivaldi.
I must admit, I depend on Sbie a lot and have done for years.

We all have different configurations on our machines and at times what works for one person won't work for another.
Just use what works for you :)

For those that are using sandboxie in Windows 10.

Are you using the stable version or the beta version?

For W10 1903, you should use the beta. With stable 5.30,you cant download files using sandboxed browser. Version 5.30 is OK in 1809 and earlier W10.
