I will just say this one thing browsers Supported at this time is IE, Firefox and Chrome! We have seen that pegas has got it working in the new Chrome based Opera but it doesn't mean it is supported it's great if other browsers can in some way be able to use the New Web Filtering Extensions.

    Daniel ;)

Yes indeed...there's no guarantee that it will ever work in Pale Moon or other officially unsupported browser, but WSA and Pale Moon seem to get along fine otherwise, and I have faith :)

    Hi Dermot7

A while back Joe gave this answer about it, and it might give you some answers too. And like you, I want to use the browser that I chose and it may not be one of the major ones that is WSA supported/compatible, so I was glad to see this answer.

Is there any way to configure the categories? It's too much Parental Controls, and even blocks sites like torproject.org!

The current list of categories are here.

I have used the Webroot Reputation Toolbar and within that you can suggest category changes; I have done this on a number of occasions previously, and had emails back confirming a change in the next database update.

You can also suggest URL category changes here: http://brightcloud.com/support/changerequest.php

Just tried the Chrome version, and now torproject.org isn't blocked on Chrome but still on Internet Explorer?*It appears to remember my choices and is unrelated to the toolbar, now also unblocked for IE. The search results still show and it seems to block other sites.

Anyways, it's not what I'm looking for. I don't want to change categories for individual websites, but choose which categories to enable for myself.

We don't give full granular access to all of the categories (that would be more of a parental controls product which we don't have) but we do still give you control over allowing specific websites if blocked. I wouldn't think we should be blocking torproject.org even though it is a proxy website so some companies might want to block it.

Could you post a screenshot of the block message when visiting it so that I can see what engine is being used?

    Thanks!

WSA doesn't block it anymore after I allowed it a couple times. I do remember it displaying "Suspicious" as the block message, but here's a screenshot of the search results:
*Edit: It also blocks this other legitimate site the same way.

    Hello,

I just had the new web filtering to install and now the option to "show safety ratings when using search engines" is not working. I did a complete uninstall followed by a reboot and fresh install but that did not make a difference. I am fairly sure the green checkmarks or something should be showing on my search pages but They are identical whether that option is enabled or not. I am on Windows 8.1 Pro x64 with Media Center using IE11. Any ideas?

Do you see it in Gear (under X button) > Manage add-ons? There should be a Webroot Filtering Extension you can enable.

    Hello,

Yes, it shows up in manage add-ons and is enabled. Both wrflt.dll and WRusr.dll are being loaded into IE11 also. The first time I opened IE11 after the update I got the message about a new add-on was detected and did I want to enable it, which I did.

    Hello,

I have been experiencing huge slowdowns in the loading of web pages since the new web filter was installed. I have disabled it for now because of the slowdowns and my page loading speed has returned to normal.

Everything is smooth with the new web filter on my end. :thumb: I like that you have to enter your access control password to override Webroot's suggestion! Great work :argh:

Full IE11 support will be in place in the next update. We're waiting for some final testing but should have it out soon.

Thanks Joe, I was thinking I had an issue. Hopefully it will fix the IE11 slowdowns also...

    Hello Joe,

Could you please post back here when that update is released since it is transparent and no easy way to know it has happened (plus I have disabled that add-on for now)?

I still haven't received the update, is there another way I can obtain it?

I would appreciate the help, thanks.

To those waiting for the update: you do realise you're still protected with the 2013 web filtering? Don't worry so much. You'll get the 2014 filtering when your keycode gets hit to be updated.

    Hi Phenom

I am afraid that there is no other way to receive the update. You will just have to be patient...you are one of 30 million users...and unfortunately success on that scale does have its downsides...very occasionally. :(
