I've just installed the free version of BD Ver 8.0 to use alongside my primary AV which is NOD32. Well so far so good no probs as yet and fingers crossed all will work out well.

Now my Q here is that when I open up BD V8.0 free edition, just under General and Status tab there is a box that says Virus sheild is not loaded. Now that box seems ghosted and I cannot seem to tick it, like it's been disabled. Is there any reason for this. I am suspecting becuase the free edition of BD does not support realtime scanning so this could be.

Now my other Q here is that assume I get a virus and NOD32 misses it (which is very very rare) but lets out of the blue it does, now because BD free does not support realtime scanning does this mean it will detect/grab the virus before the PC is infected or do I have to do a manual scan to finally find out whether my PC has been infected.

    That's correct.

You have to do a manual scan.

Now I'm having a slight small problem here. When I go to update, then Check, it does a scan to see if there are any updates but after thats all over I get two icons on my desktop screen that say Get File (in a form of a notepad) and another icon that says x dtrace log.

I dont know how serious these are but is there any way to stop them from coming onto the dsktop. They just seem a bit annoying in a way
