Problem enabling protection for restricted sites

Hello, I at trying to "enable all protection" on my version 3.4 spywareblaster. I check all the boxes and hit "protect against all checked items," but when I hit enter, all the checkmarks disappear and it says I still have 1600+ items with protection disabled. I am running windows xp with internet explorer. I have also run my antivirus software (updated) to see if I have a virus that is preventing me from checking off all the boxes for protection.

Any ideas?
