Today when I was going to clean with Privazer, It got stuck on indexing cleaning and packing.
So it got stuck on Windows.edb. I don't know Why. This have never happened me before.
So I clicked on Stop and Privazer closed the cleaning progress. Then I tried to clean again..
Then it comes up that Privazer was in cleaning mode and I couldn't clean or stop it.
And got stuck in some closing progress which I needed to kill the process to stop.

I have no clue why it got stuck on Windows.edb I have not indexed so much.
Any help would be nice. i found this forum on Privazers website, and hope I could get some help here.

Windows 10 Pro X64bit - 20H2 - 19042.928
Privazer Donors Version - 4.0.23

I just re-discovered that PrivaZer trims the SSD by default whenever it's run as usual, so this could mean on a daily basis . What is the consensus on this? Do most leave this setting enabled in Advanced Options/Cleanup/Flash Memory, SSD, NAND?

Personally, I set it to Normal Deletion without any TRIM but this was only after I noticed that it was always reading 0 days since last TRIM in Disk Optimization app. So, my 980 Pro could have been trimmed upwards of a dozen times at least within one months' time. Can one's disk be overly trimmed leading to too much wear? During this time the health went from 100% to 99%--not much but still a coincidence.

the TRIM command will not wear out your SSD.
It will just notify to the controller of your SSD which NAND cells have to be erased.

 

OK, yes you have explained this before. Thanks again for the re-assuring explanation.

Here I've disabled this feature but only due to personal preference as this brand of nvm-e (Samsung 980 Pro) has given me write issues requiring not one but two firmware updates plus it's the only internal drive on this computer. Oh well.

I have noticed that my laptop is progressively accumulating ETL files e.g.

In some cases there are numerous iterations of the file per day. Although they probably represent no security or privacy issue they are probably un-needed clutter and although mostly small files they are often not contiguous on a relatively empty disk.

Are you aware if these files can be deleted? If not could they be safely purged to keep the last week or so as per my request #2402

 

Sorry, but I couldn't face going through the 102 pages ! Is there a way to add "unusual" browsers ? And how come many programs that are installed here on this PC don't show up in the checklists ? Many thanks for a great program.

Event Trace Log files can be deleted (they record application and system-level warnings, errors, events).
We will add an option.

Which programs do you need to be cleaned for instance ?
Which "unusual browser" do you use ?

F-secure is flagging the new release as trojan.
They fixed the issue but users are still reporting that it is not fixed.

I don't know if people realize how it is hard to be recognized for the work you do.

Thanks for the update.
I have tried to select .etl files from a System32 directory but as you will see from the screenshot the Privazer directory popup does not show the directory.
Any Ideas ?? could this be a bizarre protection of superfluous system files?

 

I also have doubts that they time switch is working as I have tried the attached and no files were deleted in excess of the 4 days specified in #13

 

@The_PrivaZer_Team (and/or anyone else who can help answer this):

Two questions, please ...

1) When in Vivaldi, I use the "Save As" window. What option do I uncheck in PrivaZer to preserve the window position of the "Save As" window?

2) What option do I uncheck in PrivaZer to make sure the recent apps list in the Start menu (I use Start 10 from Stardock) does NOT get erased?
