Hi, I have a poster at the TSG forum who has the Sony rootkit, it appears they have tried to remove it themselves and now they say they have no sound for their computer. What should I advise? I have already asked the mods there to come in!

Yea, I have that info, what about legal implications, I guess that's down to the poster and where they live?

I'm assuming you're referring to the class action suits you mentioned in your post @ TechGuy.

While I can't advise what to do in that regard. If I were in joshzz shoes, my immediate concern would be removal and restoring my system to full function (ie. regarding the sound issue). Although I would likely entertain that secondary concern too. If the OP does wish to pursue that avenue, I would suggest contacting those parties to get exact details and further direction before proceeding.
