Just to add just because it does not work on your PC does not mean it slows down everyone's PC. I have read many places MSE is light yet it slowed down my machine, I do not go around everywhere saying it's bad because it slowed down my machine. No machine is 100% alike once it gets into the users hands.

If you have a product you test and it does not work as expected send tech support a email and have them look into it. I have not found one security company who does not like it when users email tech support to report problems. Most company's rather like that so they can fix their product.

The guy at pcmag has tested Panda antivrus pro 2011 and it is quite an interesting read.

It performed worse than Panda cloud antivirus free 1.1 with the same samples in his testing

According to his contacts at Panda, there is an update coming in September for the 2011 range to 'bring the two products into line'

Panda doesn't apply the same level of scrutiny when it performs on-access scans of files already present on the system. As a result, it scored worse than expected on my test using already-downloaded threats. Panda Cloud Antivirus, with fewer layers of protection, focuses all its detection skills on local files and thus scored quite a bit better, at least initially.

This difference in detection technique affects reviewers running comparative tests much more than actual users. Even so, the company supplied me with a build that lets the on-access scan use the products full malware-detecting power. They'll be rolling out this build to all users in September, along with some other small changes to their autofix technology.

The updated Panda detected 89 percent of the threats at one point or another. That's lower than the 94 percent achieved by Panda Cloud Antivirus with the same set of samples. My Panda contacts expect that the September fixes will bring the two products into line.

Hi, just a quick question. Is panda internet security light on the system? I've tested panda cloud free a while back but it slow down my system (I think it was a beta version though).
The reason I'm asking is because I'm hearing great things about panda's detection rate, and I'm considering getting a firewall for my windows 7 computer. Thanks

Would love to test panda internet security if I qualify :D

I tried Panda AV pro briefly, and found resource usages similar to their cloud product. But why not try it on your own.

Well, if Panda 2011 is as light as Panda Cloud, it must extremely light. But is it stable?

Ouch.. i retried Panda AV Pro 2011 and IS 2011 both hangs my system badly.. Took me sometime to uninstall it because it hangs too much..

Note: I had no other security software running on my system at that time.

Back to Panda Cloud AV Free..

I hope that I will get one too ;-)

I'm curious to see if the fix will improve stability and will speed up Panda. My first test of trial 2011 version took only 1h because it just make me system so slow that I couldn't work at all. Tried to reinstall with the same effect. We will see if the fix will gonna help

    Regards
    yaslaw

i can say its better than 2010 for sure. im still running it through the ringer but its really not bad. the only thing that bothers me still is all the running procc's i wish they could condense those down to one or two like most of the current av's do
