I was rerunning a test of Norton & decided to purchase it. I have owned it in the past so went to renew & had issues with getting the license in...started a chat session & in a few minutes it was installed & up & running. Just thought I'd share a good customer service experience at least for me was curteous & was solved quickly...

Yet another area symantec improved in?

Maybe norton decided to suck on purpose until they made a product worth supporting.

I always thought Symantec would have to get with the times on the software itself.

However, if their customer support is becoming solid... The end of the world is nigh. :D

I've yet to have a good experience with support, but I will say their forums have been extremely helpful.

    Hi,

I agree with it, I also purchased NIS 2009 and got some update problem on my home desktop.

I just clicked on "One Click Support" and chat with support and problem solved out.

Most likely is, your problem be solved within few minutes only, not sending email, than keep that ticket and wait for response.

I emailed Symantec support and they answered within three hours. That is a definate improvement over the support response time of the past. It looks as if they finally got their customers message.

I find that they generally refund the auto renewals pretty quick too.

I also had a good experience with Nortons Customer Service:

I had purchased a boxed version of NAV 2008 (3 user) at the local Best Buy. Instead of installing it, I decided to beta test the NIS 2009. I liked Nortons NIS 2009 so much I decided I wanted it instead of just the NAV. I opened up a chat with support and asked support what my options were. (By this time it was still within the first month after purchase and I had never used the product key).

I also mentioned to support that now Best Buy had NIS 2008 on sale for less than what I had paid for NAV.

To make a long story short(er), instead of having to return NAV 2008 to Symantec, get a refund and then have to purchase NIS 2009... they gave me a product key for NIS 2008 (3 user).

So, since now I had NIS 2009 (I kept the key till NIS 2009 was released), didn't have to pay extra, and had it within a few minutes. Three days later NIS 2009 was released... and I'm set for a year!

    I'm very happy with Norton...
