Hi all. Ive hit a gliche I cant get over. Ive been running NIS 2004 for several months with no problems. Yesterday I booted up to find that NIS would not come up. Ive tried every angle I can to get into the program, but no go. I would even uninstall, but you cant uninstall without logging in as supervisor. Im running W2k. Any ideas? Sure could use some help on this one! Markil

Can you or can you not access the internet with NIS being disabled like this?

Do you normally start NIS at system start or do you normally start it manually? If the former, have you confirmed that it's still present in your start-up list?

Can you check using Task Manager to see which, if any, of the Norton modules are actually running?

It sounds like something has disabled NIS, but it's sort of difficult to tell what specific module or how at this point. I presume you've done the obvious and run whatever AV, AT software you may have, not to mention SpyBot S&D or Ad-Aware.
