I have a CMS ABS 40 Gig. back up system. It is connected by USB 2.0. It has slowed to a crawl since I installed NOD. I have tried disabling AMON, but I was told that it doesn't completely disable it. I do a back up once a week. What else can I do?

    Hi William,

Don't know if this will solve the actual problem, but at work i have a similar kind of situation.

We have a new Compaq Proliant server that comes with Mcafee :doubt: preinstalled, we do a backup each night with VERITAS Backup Exec at 11.00 hours.
With Mcafee running while doing the backup job it takes ages for the backup to complete, so we gave the matter a thought and we decided to make a batch file, actually two, which will make Mcafee do a complete virusscan of the system prior to the backup.

When the backup starts, Mcafee will be disabled.

When the backup is complete, Mcafee will be turned on again, doing his usual job. LOL

    Is this an idea??

Too bad Nod's exclusion list isn't properly working yet, otherwise you could have placed the backup job into the exclusion list and you had no worries, so as it is :'(

Didn't have time to uninstall Mcafee yet and install Nod, see how the backup system will cope with that.

    Rgds,
    Martin
