    Hi,
Have installed Kaspersky Internet security 2010 last week. Since yesterday have been getting a message saying " network attacks Dos.Generic SYN Flood.

Can anyone tell me what it means if they are hving the same problems and how to fix it and should i be taking any precautions.

    Thanks

    Hi,
do you have a static ip?
do you use a p2p client?

The fact that Kaspersky informs you about it it's a good thing. It means that you are safe although you get notified about these events. In any case you should scan your pc with Malwarebytes and/or a-squared for a possible infection. Install, update these programs, disconnect from the web and run a scan.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SYN_flood also read this.
Others with more experience on Kaspersky products will help you here. Maybe you should also post your issue on Kaspersky forums.

some ports are closed according to KIS 2010 firewall, you check this result with online scan from pcflank.com, so some type of worm or some hacker may be scanning your system for opened loop hole, thats why you are geeting these warning. as already said you are protected. if you got doubt then why not try to scan your whole hard disk with MBAM or a2.

Most of the times these are false positives of the firewall caused by playing games/using p2p and other programs that use floods of packets.
