Can Look'n'Stop co-exist with others firewall already installed like Sygate ? I'd like to try it out first before buying it.

Installing any two or more Software Firewalls can cause noticeable conflicts like Internet Connection failures, or one Software Firewall capable of heaving complete Filtering Control while another Software Firewall may only be capable of seeing Authorized packets by the currently filtering Software Firewall. And a lot of times Software Firewalls functionality are non-functional also.

Installing any two or more Software Firewalls can possibly have a major impact on the Internet and System Performance, or it could not be really noticeable to one but it does exist.

And all regardless if two or more are currently running or not. I highly recommend Uninstalling the current Software Firewall and re-boot before attempting to trail another Software Firewall product.

As usual, Phant0m puts it well! A couple of additional points on uninstalling:

    1. Some load various doo-dads into memory at boot up. You need to check if that's the case, disable any item(s) and then reboot. Otherwise, the uninstall could be partial and might even fail.

    2. Not all uninstalls are total, and the most common undone task is...the Registry. Run something like RegCleaner or RegScrub (I use both) to be sure. There have been cases where some stray Registry gunk has made a conflict with the new firewall.

    3. Even if you do #1 and #2, it is still possible (although far less likely) to have issues. When they surface, the vendors have had solutions, usually undocumented (ZAP 4 and the /clean switch, for example).

Bottom line -- you want to be absolutely, totally sure everything is gone!
