KAV Lite 4071

I downloaded KAV Lite 4071. Lisa at Kaspersky E Mailed me the link. It was a trial version. I wanted to pay for it so I can update and use it . Well I went to the Kaspersky web site and paid. The only thing I can get is 4.5. All I want to do is get the 4071 working. I have E Mailed service@kaspersky.com twice and haven't heard anything. I also E Mailed Lisa twice and haven't heard anything. I want to use it as a backup scanner. How can I get what I need to activate it. I have allready paid for it.

I have just renewed my annual liscence . In the last 24 hrs for Kav lite . In that time i have sent 2 emails off to service @kaspersky.com and have not received a reply either . (for the same reason as yourself) I have been in touch with element 5 who i purchased kav thru 3 times and they replied within 20 minutes each email . I find it extraudinary that Kav have goner back to there old slack ways , I suggest you contact element 5 and talk to them about it . They will most likely be able to email kav and get some action . Im kind of really regretting my reloading of my liscence. As there are
plenty of good anti virus software out there now and good compitition and who give excellent service also..

you have 30 days to get your money back . Element 5 are excellent to deal with .

you should have a keyfile for your v4.5; it may be included in the download offered after you paid or send to you by mail. This key should work with v4071, too.

I did E Mail Element 5 and their response was that all they can provide is 4.5. If I need anything else I would have to contact Kaspersky . I even called the1 800 number and was told to send the REF # . I did that 2 days ago. So far no response. Element 5 said I could apply for a refund, I want it to work. I don't want a refund.

 

Karl, how can I go about downloading the 4.5 to get the key file and using it for 4071 then removing the 4.5. I have NOD32 and want to use only the KAV Lite scanner.

 

william . you have to delete your kavlite 4.0.71
> run the kav reg cleaner .
> then reboot .
>Load up the 4.5
>Go to programme files /kaspersky lite folder and save the key to some where safe ( documents )
>delete 4.5
>run kavreg cleaner
>reboot
Load up 4.0.071>add key that is saved in documents > after finishing that >reboot . update once again .

Its a pity Kaspersky are so complicated and so unhelpful about such a simple thing like sending a new key if you choose to continue your licence rather than having to redownload the whole software package.

ps william you may need to be aware that inbetween reboots the Nod monitor may also cause a hassle with the KAV monitor , so you may also need to temporarily disable that

However at least one only has to do that once a year lol . good luck

yea talk about about a freak out lol. Pity they dont listen about these concerns. I feel there isnt anything in it for then ( selling the kav lite) and they will increasingly move away from the lite being or having the [potential that it could have to be the best /affordable anti virus solution .for low cost.

 

Hi, just for information you can get the "key" from a version of KAV without having to actually install it. All you do is run the EXE file that you downloaded and when you get the prompt asking you were you want to store the files, choose any location you can remember. Once it has unpacked the files it will start the install procedure, just cancel this. The unpacked files will still be in the stoe location you chose along with the *.key file.

Hi All,
Just to confirm a few things, the keys are included in the downloads you receive when you pay for the software - Trevor is correct in that you can download and extract your key file from there if you wish to run another version.

Or you can contact the supplier with your order number and ask them to make you a key file as you already have the software.

If you look at the Element5 receipt it will tell you they took the payment for e.g. Kaspersky Russia or Kaspersky UK.

If it came to UK, email me at lisa@kasperskylab.co.uk with your order number and I will make you the key file.
If your payment went to Russia, email support@kaspersky.com and do the same - we need name/Address, order number and date of purchase.

thanks lisa . I think we have sussed it out by now. we each have emailed Kaspersky prior to sorting this out and have not heard anything back as yet . however Im sure they may soon < apart from your comments now. One can delete the kav 4.5 before loading completely and this shaves off a minute or two from the proocess . Certainly a key would be much more appropriate on renewal than having to download the complete 4.5 and load it in order to get the key file . I am not that happy with the responses from kav labs and will not be continuing with my purchase as I feel that there are better options available out there for my needs..I also feel that the Kav lite is being watered down now to a programme that is half of what it was or could be.

Hi Lisa . If you can sent me a key file it would be great. I looked at the E Mails from Element 5 and I can't tell where the money went. How can I be sure I am dealing with uk. I would appreciate any help you can give.

 

My receipt is the same way.......doesn't say which location of KAV got the money.

Sorry if I have missed something - what is the difference between Kaspersky Lite v4071 and v4.5.0071

The only version I can see online is v4.5.0071 from (http://downloads1.kaspersky-labs.com/products/release/4.5/English/HomeUser/KAVLite/kavlite45eng.exe) but I can't get this running without a key, not even in a trial mode

Why do you not want to run this version - which version should I run as a scanner to back up NOD32 v2. If I should be running an earlier version (4071) where can I get it from.

Hello Fryr. I to have NOD32 and want KAV Lite as a backup scanner. You can't use 4.5 because you can't turn off the consant protection and use the scanner. You have to have 4071

 

fryr you can get the 4071at www.kasperskylab.co.uk/files/homeuser/ But the problem is getting the key file to make it work.

 

Thank you for your response - I have downloaded v4.0.71 and disabled the realtime monitor service and application so as not to interfere with NOD32 v2. All I need to do now is extract the key from v4.5

william i find it hard to understand why you havent sussed it out yet . The earlier steps work that we all labourusly sussed out 3 days or so ago. Failing that contact either Lisa or service@kaspersky.com and ask for a key .
I managed to extract my key from the 4.5 following the steps that were out lined in the other thread here. I also received a key from kav labs (russia) service@kaspersky.com and a very polite letter opoligising for the delay . It comes with simple instructions on how to load the new key up.

There is new key file in attachment:
1. Save new key file on your computer.
2. Close Kaspersky Anti-Virus application.
3. Check system date on your computer is current date.
4. Double click on new key file. If autoload failed (system ask you to
choose appropriate application) - copy new key file manualy to folder:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\KAV (or AVP) Shared Files\
5. Reboot your computer.

Should any questions or problems arise, please do not hesitate to get in
touch with me.

So take your choice. If you are anxious follow the steps in our other thread. You can either cancell the 4.5 after extracting the key or run it and delete it all with the Kav reg cleaner if you want to make sure everything is tidy . (i did that . )
