    Hi Pete,

    >How come nod32kern.exe doesn't shut down

It's carrying about all the NOD services and it never sleeps. :)

    Cheers,

    :D

It seems to me that having an option to totally shut it down within the program itself would be preferable to having to "End Task" it.

Don't stray running processes have a tendency to cause problems sometimes when you're trying to install/run other things - especially if you're thinking that everything else is "shut down"? Pete

What happens when you stop the NOD service in the OS's services configuration? AFAIU: nod32kui is an application that can be exited, but nod32kernel is a service (inspite of the exe extension) that can't just be launched and exited but has to be started/stopped. But i think it is a service that is configured to interact with the desktop, so it should be possible to use the GUI to end the service as well.

    Hi,

Every function of NOD32 is stopped.

    >(nod32kernel) But i think it is a service that is configured to interact with the desktop.

Sorry, it doesn't interact with the desktop directly.

    >so it should be possible to use the GUI to end the service as well.

It can be stopped via the OS's services configuration.

    Rgds,

    jan
