    acuariano,

It may be an erroneous error. I'd check the partitions with BootIt BM.

Check Properties for each partition. BootIt BM will report any errors.

Sure. Open Scripting and use Copy sectors to/from a file. See page 12 in tbosdt.pdf (in TBOSDT folders).

    Depends on the error.

    This is from Tom Pfeifer...

    mantra,

BootIt can create and work with both partition types. Cylinder and 2048 sector aligned. I use 2048 sector aligned for just about everything.

    mantra,

BootIt will show both types of partition and will let you determine which is which.

Select the partition, Properties, write down the Start LBA.

If the Start LBA divided by 2048 is an integer (whole number) then the partition is 2048 Sector aligned. Also called MB aligned.

If the Start LBA divided by 16065 is an integer (whole number) then the partition is legacy cylinder aligned. (63*255=16065)

In BootIt Settings there are two settings for partition alignment. Align on 2048 Sectors and Align on Cylinder. For general purposes it doesn't matter which one you use but to create/resize/slide 2048 sector aligned partitions you must have Align on 2048 Sectors selected. And vice versa.

You can run BIBM from its own CD or USB. You can run it from the HD, which I prefer. Or you can put the BIBM ISO on a Grub4DOS flash drive along with other ISOs.

There are lots of advantages in having it installed on the HD but they are specialized. For example, I can initiate an OS restore from Windows, BootNow (associated with BIBM) will restart the computer and boot into the restore environment for the auto restore. It also allows multi-booting and I have about 30 independent bootable partitions.
