    Very odd.

I had just loaded my TrueCrypt password from my thumb drive into NotePad when my firewall alerted me (see screenshot).

Of course, I "denied" it, but I've never seen NotePad try to communicate out to anything, anywhere -ever.

Anyone else ever seen anything like that?

I'll start off a bunch of scans shortly and see what - if anything - comes up.

Any input would be appreciated. Pete

Nothing found during full scans (all drives) by fully-updated, registered copies of SpyReveal, TrojanHunter, MalWarebytes AntiMalware and (if it ever gets done - it seems to be choking at about 42%) NOD32.

About the only thing I found relating to a NotePad UDP occurence was this:

http://forum.emsisoft.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=2571 where apparently someone used an exploit involving NotePad to check their firewall (Comodo, in that particular example - my software firewall is Sunbelt Personal Firewall).

Since I've permanently "denied" NotePad, I don't consider this a "threat" - I'd just sure like to know what triggered it to begin with. Pete
