    Hi,

I tried going through the user guide but I'm a little confused.

Here's what I did in the past:

On a computer I installed Acronis True Image Workstation 9.1.3718 and Universal Restore True Image Workstation 9.1.3718. I didn't install Acronis True Image Management Console 9.1.3718.

I made a full backup of this computer updating the image from time to time.

Now I used this master image (tib file) in the past to restore to some computers with different hardware and it worked great.

I'm finding that with new technology it didn't work great anymore so I got the latest Acronis True Image Echo Workstation 9.5.8115 and Acronis True Image Echo Workstation Universal Restore Plugin 9.5.8115.

Recently I had to re-image a pc with different hardware and I used the boot cd method with universal restore and this is what I did:

Master Image was made from Acronis True Image Workstation 9.1.3718 and the Rescue Boot CD is Acronis True Image Echo Workstation 9.5.8115 and Acronis True Image Echo Workstation Universal Restore Plugin 9.5.8115.

The problem when I restarted the computer it restarted and everything appeared normal at first but I lost all my network services etc.. and the computer won't function properly.

    Here's my questions:

    1) When having a master image (tib file) because my current master image was made from Acronis True Image Workstation 9.1.3718, should I re-do the master image from Acronis True Image Echo Workstation 9.5.8115 and Acronis True Image Echo Workstation Universal Restore Plugin 9.5.8115?

    2) As in question 1 should I also remake my master image when I get a new update/patch (i.e. updating Acronis True Image Echo Workstation 9.5.8076 to Acronis True Image Echo Workstation 9.5.8115)? I can understand having to remake a master image from Question 1 because it was a major revision because Acronis went from Acronis True Image Workstation 9.1.xxxx to Acronis True Image Echo Workstation 9.5.xxxx.

    3) When you have a computer ready to make a master image (full backup) does Acronis True Image Echo Workstation have to be installed on the local pc or if you have a rescue boot cd with Acronis True Image Echo Workstation 9.5.8115 can you create a master image (full backup) from the rescue cd without needing Acronis True Image Echo Workstation 9.5.8115 installed on the local pc?

    4) If I have Acronis True Image Echo Workstation 9.5.8115 and Acronis True Image Echo Workstation Universal Restore Plugin 9.5.8115 installed on the local pc do I need Acronis True Image Echo 9.5.8115 Management Console as well? I know the user guide recommends having the Management Console installed first but I was just wondering if installing Acronis True Image Echo Workstation 9.5.8115 and Acronis True Image Echo Workstation Universal Restore Plugin 9.5.8115 was good enough.

Thanks for your help just needed some clarifying as I find the user guide a little confusing!

    Hello countryboy,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Remote Workstation Disk Backup Software.

We are sorry for delayed response.

Please be aware that one version back archive support is guaranteed. It may still be useful to recreate master image, so it could be used with future versions as well.

The computer used to create master image from doesn't have to have any components of Acronis True Image installed. The operation can be performed with Acronis Bootable Rescue Media.

Please note that according to Acronis License Policy you need to purchase one copy of the product for every machine it will be used to manage.

Acronis True Image Management Console component is used for convenience of centralized management of operations with Acronis True Image. It's not required for functioning of local components.

    Thank you.
