Well I just finished building a new computer. It was built for GIS so it was built better than your average computer. The problem is that when I run ESS v5, it causes some serious lag. I have no problems with the same program on my laptop, but I'm also running NOD32 AV v4 only and not ESS.

ESS is running in default mode. The lag goes away when I temporarily disable ESS and returns when I enable it. Hopefully someone can help because my 2 year old laptop should not be out performing my desktop.

    My system is:

    Win 7 Home Premium 64-Bit
    i7 3.2 GHz OC'ed to 4.5GHz
    16 GB RAM
    GeForce GTX570
    1.5 TB Seagate HD's x2

    ESS v5

    Hello,

By lag, do you mean a slowdown in startup or shutdown time, application launching, network speed, responsiveness to keyboard and mouse or something else?

Did you upgrade from a previous-installed antivirus program, including possibly an older version of ESET Smart Security?

    Regards,

    Aryeh Goretsky
