Same problem here. Using Windows 7, ESS 6.0.316.1.

I did manage to manually download update 8358, but once I tried again to check if everything was okay I got the error message again.

I have the same symptoms as metalalbert, did an update + clear cache on the server, looked as though it had worked, on the second go, received the same error.

If somebody is willing to help us troubleshoot the issue by connecting to their computer remotely, please let me know. All attempts to update v6 or Endpoint have been successful here and no error was reported.

I can in an hour or so, if no one else volunteers.

Even though all clients were giving that error message, all clients successfully updated to 8358 when it was released. I'm not seeing "Recent update attempts failed" any more on the console, but I am still getting "Virus signature database update failed" when I manually attempt to check for updates.
(using Endpoint AV 5.2214.4 AND 4.2.0.76) (using latest ERA server/console)

For some odd reason manually updating now doesn't show the error message anymore.

    This is what I did.

    1. Cleared cache
    2. Rebooted my computer
    3. Kept trying to manually update until the button to clear the cache could be used
    4. Clear the cache again
    5. Tried manual update. It then worked without error message.

Updates have been suspended temporarily as a preventive measure which may account for this behavior.

Same issue here. Update errors started with 8357. Couldn't update clients via Remote Administration Console or ESET's update servers. After a few hours, 8358 was download successfully to RAC and distributed to clients. Identical issue again but now with 8358.

Could it be this is user account related? Because oddly enough my laptop downstairs didn't have these problems.

I use a different user account for ESS on my laptop, so could it be this is user account related? I also haven't updated ESS on the laptop yet, it is still running ESS 6.0.306.1.

Just now when I tried to manually update ESS downloaded something and said that some program modules had been updated. Does this mean the problems are fixed?

Sorry for asking again, but I just want to be sure ESS is operating properly.

Yes, it's me again. I found this on the other ESET forum, posted by Peter Randziak:

I think he is referring to the program module update? That downloaded fine for me.

The cause of the issue has been identified and a fixed Update module was released. The issue affected only x64 systems. We truly apologize for the inconvenience caused.
