    I keep getting media is bad, but I do not think that is the issue, Nero 5.5 does not see the burner either it is a NEC ND-3530A, came with the Dell PC I upgraded it from 102 something to 104C to see if that would fix it and it does not.

    Hello ecvogel,

    Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

    Please make sure that you use the latest build (2302) of Acronis True Image 9.0 which is available at: http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/support/updates/

    To get access to updates you should create an account at:
    http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/my/
    then log in and use your serial number to register your software.

    Please be aware that current version of Acronis True Image 9.0 doesn’t write to DVD directly, instead it utilizes third party UDF packet DVD writing software. You can find more information on how to write your images to DVD in this FAQ article.

    The ability to write to DVD directly will be implemented in the future builds of a particular product, but exact time frame for this is is not decided yet.

    Please also note that this is a normal situation when a DVD writer is shown as a CD burner in Acronis True Image. This doesn't affect the device's functionality and you can use DVD.

    In case you have the appropriate UDF packet DVD writing software installed and all of your DVDs are properly formatted according to the above mentioned FAQ article, but you still can not write to DVD, please collect the following information:

    - Create Acronis Report and Windows System Information as it is described in Acronis Help Post;

    - Reproduce the problem and collect Acronis True Image 9.0 log which can be saved from Tools -> Show Log -> Diskette icon;

    - Make a screen shot or provide the exact text of the error message that you receive when trying to create an image saving it to DVD;

    - When exactly you receive that error message?

    - Describe action taken before the problem appears step-by-step.

    Submit a request for technical support. Attach all the collected files and information to your request along with the information about your purchase of Acronis software (order number, e-mail, where did you purchase our product, etc.) and the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with the solution.

    Thank you.

    Huh Looks like it works now. It says DVD-RW (E:] CD-RW and when I added a file name and said next it asked for a disk, so I assume it works.

    I am using version 8.0 937
    Thanks.
