I had been using both Kaspersky 9.0 and SpySweeper (the people at Best Buy told me I should said no security suite can do it all))but last night I decided to uninstall Spysweeper and just use Kaspersky for all of my security needs; have I made the right decision? Also, does anyone else have a problem with web pages and programs briefly freezing up and receiving the following messages: (microsoft word not responding, Firefox not responding etc.) each freeze up lasts from a few seconds to a minute and the screen whitens ups? Hope I have posted these questions in the right area etc. if not feel free to move this to where it should be located. By the way, I'm running Windows Vista on a Dell Laptop using Sprint Broad Band.

The sales assistants at best buy sound like idiots. KAV covers both the traditional viruses as well those classed as adware and spyware. No blacklist scanner (like an AV or AS) does it all but adding Spysweeper seems pretty stupid.

Re the freezes, are you using heuristics for on access scanning in KAV?

Are the problems associated with having Spy Sweeper on your computer ?

Many people have issues with it, I have no problem with version 5.5.7 (version of Spy Sweeper WITHOUT antivirus). A later version caused problems on my computer.

I don't know about any interaction between Kaspersky and the Spy Sweeper.
Kaspersky can be agressive and cause problems too.

I have heard Kapsersky can have issues when running along side another antivirus program. Since Kapersky is far superior you might as well just get rid SpySweeper and completely uninstall it from your system.

And I am no expert but I still would not take advice from the Best Buy Geek Squad.
