I have noticed the same thing and that is why I have not even tried the newest 3.2 version. In fact I have even removed the 3.15 version because of the obvious lack of support that I have seen.

Sad to say, but I have also didn't upgrade my 3.15 version to 3.20!!! The 3.20 version seems to have many problems (that seems to take time to resolved or even answer by the support of DCS) and no important improvement in term of level of protection compare to version 3.15...

I like Puff M-D actually left 3.15 off after trying the beta's of 3.2. Irony is I had a very minor problem on my system in the form of occasional errors with FDISR. I noticed in the brief period of no PG there were no error's so I didn't replace 3.15. Haven't seen any error's since.

I think PG needs some serious work, at this point.

Such a quiet thread here. Do you actually need direction here or do you know how to go?.

With me it was this, there were several problems and/or vulnerabilities in 3.15 that was supposed to be addressed in the next version. Version 3.2 was released and several people requested a change log but a real change log was never provided. Whatever changes from one version to the next can only be speculated. The only thing known for sure is that many are having problems with the 3.2 version and no real support has been seen here in the forum. There had not even been any word that a new version is being worked on to address all of the issues that people are having. It seems that ever since the demise of TDS that DCS has become secretive in whatever they are doing and the support level has dropped to basically nonexistent. These are the reasons that PG is no longer on my machine and I have looked elsewhere for alternatives.

That's exactly reflecting my way of thinking. You can have the best software on your PC, but once needed, if you can not get service then it's worth nothing. I also look for alternative where service is NUMBER ONE PRIORITY

Diamond CS need to let people know that they are around and handling issues.
Since Jason has left the Diamonds the Company performance appears to have fallen away.
    TDS has been discontinued
The PG 3.200 update will not work for anyone using XP SP 1 - this was supposed to have been addressed before coming out of beta. The release of the update was a truly extraordinary blunder (where was the quality control ?) , and it has been quieitly withdrawn from their main site download. There is now a deafening silence from Diamonds, my suspicion is that since Jason's departure no one now knows how to properly handle and program PG

That's strange, their website lists 3.15 as the latest release.

DiamondCS never put 3.2 on their website. I suspect that was because we XP SP1 users IMMEDIATELY found the serious bug BEFORE DiamondCS had a chance to put it on the website (Christmas day). They probably breathed a sigh of relief that they hadn't put it there yet. ;)

I'm thinking releasing it only to this board was actually yet another beta.

I reluctantly have to agree that there appears to be some lack of ability to properly handle and program PG currently. Note the official reply to my question asking if there was any progress in fixing the XP SP1 NO GUI bug. That reply took me aback as I did not expect at all to hear the answer "no, we have to wait for the coder to say something"!!! What the ....?

I missed the release of 3.2 until I saw info posted at DSLReports.com

Then I came here and saw the posts on 3.2 and decided to wait on a fix...

I've been stopping by every couple days....

Patiently waiting, as we all are........

    Re: Wayne, Still Alive

Yes, he also thanked everyone for the birthday wishes in 10 Forward. So he is on the forums.

Wayne, I've have been a supporter of DCS since I first heard about it, but that this thread even started should be a wake up call. You are the owner/operator of DCS and your silence here is a thunderous roar. No one in any business can afford to ignore their customers asking for help. I can no longer recommend DCS products in good conscience because of this silence. I sincerely hope this changes.

I have removed Process Guard from my system. Unfortunately, due to the hassle the program was causing (i.e. having to remove the rootkit/driver protection every time NAV downloaded an update or every time I ran a system scan) and my previous concerns with DCS, I've decided to remove all DCS products from my system. Process Guard was causing too many headaches, TDS has been discontinued, WG has not been updated in a very long time, and I've heard from a reliable source that PE may have memory leak issues.

I've expressed my views on the handling of TDS so I won't revisit that; however, most people do not know that I am honestly and sincerely pulling for DCS. They developed the best anti-trojan software to hit the market and that says something about Wayne and DCS. They have the potential to do great things. What has happened is sad. The current state of things is depressing when I look back at how things used to be. I do not know what goes on behind the scenes and can only hope that they will rise again. All we can do is sit back, wait, and hope that Wayne and DCS will produce something that puts them atop the industry once again.

This issue has been fixed, a release is about 2 days away (less)

Port Explorer logging keeps AWFULLY large lists in memory, and does processing on these lists. I wouldn't be overly surprised if there was a leak, but logging eats memory, simple as that. I'll do some testing ;)

Great News!! As Dallen stated- I have also had to shelf PG untill this issue was fixed. :ouch:

Just want to add a question? Will this fix also be included on PG 3.150 o_O As I have had a few issues with PG 3.2 I am just waiting for DCS to get them sorted out before I reinstall :p

Lets not forget its summer down under, Those guys probably are chasin roos across the beach. Looks like a lot of work has been going on despite the holiday and summertime though. They did daily updates for longer than I would ever care to . Microsoft takes 6 months to patch a vulnerability and I have a t least 3 good pieces of software that have never responded at all after they sent my automated receipt for the purchase. :) We got new console tools, 3.2's being worked on and it works just fine on my system by the way.

I can;'t see how they are staying in business at all with no new paying products but the support level seems adequate to let me know that they still are a going concern.

All my DCS products seem very stable with the exception of the huge log thing in PE when I capture a port and that might be fixed and you guys might be talking about something that hasn't bothered me yet.

    Just my two cents

What issue is being fixed? The XP SP1 NO GUI one or another one or all that have been reported here?

Hopefully every issue that has been reported, the no GUI issue should be the only one that may need more work (or it may be fixed). A release will be needed to see if it all works correctly, and I suggest NOT keeping protection lists just to be sure.

Well since the NO GUI one is the most important one as it affects the largest number of users who cannot use the 3.2 release at all....gee, that is the one that should be fixed first. :( So, I hope it is actually fixed.

Ah well....if Dell doesn't screw up yet again my new box with XP SP2 on it should be here the end of the week and if I can stand running SP2 then the issue will be moot for me. But with Dell's dismal track record, I am not holding my breath that they will finally get their act together. I may put SP1 on the box anyhow whenever I do get it. I had SP2 on my virtual machine and hated it...way too much junk that is not needed in SP2 unless you are an ignorant user. So, I may still need this fix for the GUI and I know many, many folks still using SP1 with no intentions of installing SP2 and many of them use ProcessGuard.

    Dear Gavin,

I can't use PG as i don't run XP, but i have considered it if i did. I would be most concerned though, that you were spending any time at all on the free apps etc you have genorously provided, rather than fixing the GUI issue that is obviously a Very major problem for a lot of people.

It is being looked at. I don't want what I said to seem misleading. I think it is taking an awfully long time...too long to fix, but it is being examined. I offered my help in testing way back on Christmas day when I installed 3.2 and had no GUI. I heard nothing until recently when Wayne contacted me via PM and asked one question. Then I heard nothing until a few days ago when Wayne again contacted me and asked if I would do a brief test as he thought depending on the results that he might know what the problem is and if so it would be easily fixable. I stupidly did the test wrong the first time (so I added a bit of delay to fixing it) and then I got it right and reported the results and I don't know anything further.

So, it is being looked into. But what bothers me the most is that Wayne released this version with the knowledge that there was this bug for all XP SP1 users which makes 3.2 unusable on our systems and quite tricky to uninstall. He didn't even warn us not to use it yet a beta tester here reported the problem still existed just a couple of days before the Gold release. If DiamondCS was not willing to do another beta, which would be the proper protocol, then at least we SP1 users should have been warned to stay away from it.

Bottom line: It will get fixed but none of this should have happened. We would all be better off if the Gold release had been delayed and another beta offered. If that had been the case, this bug would already be fixed because DiamondCS would have been anxious to get out the Gold version and would have stepped up the fixing of this GUI bug. Instead, some are very happy with 3.2 and it works fine for them and it is released so the pressure is much less to fix the problem for SP1 users and possibly the reason for the slowness in doing so.

Poor judgement here as it doesn't exactly engender confidence in DiamondCS when a product's new version goes Gold and a good segment of the users cannot use it due to a bug that should have been fixed in the beta testing period. Much greater harm done in releasing the product with such a big known bug than in pushing the release date back again.
