So-called smart TV's are getting really scary that include features one presumably has zero control.
Take this Samsung TV featured at a large Canadian furniture and home products retailer.

The tech giant announced Monday night that it will spend $5 billion over the next five years to install and develop Internet of Things systems worldwide. Samsung has launched a new hub for smarthome devices, which it hopes will kickstart the evolution of the internet of things (IoT).

Its Hub will securely unite sensors and accessories from a range of manufacturers using the SmartThings open system.

IoT Gas Detectors Are Vulnerable to Cyber-Attacks

According to a recent ICS-CERT advisory, the Midas and Midas Black gas detectors sold by US hardware firm Honeywell are vulnerable to remote cyber-attacks, which can allow attackers to modify its settings without proper authentification.

Vulnerable versions include the Honeywell Midas version 1.13b1 and prior, and Honeywell Midas Black version 2.13b1 and prior, for which the manufacturer has already released fixes to address the reported issues.
