I'm trying to buy NOD32 v.2, and on the webpage it tells me that if I want this version instead of v.3, I have to call an 866 number and talk to sales staff. Problem is, they don't work on weekends. I was wondering if there was any way around that. I don't really want to wait until Monday, and I don't really want v.3.

I have a link to the page where you can actually download v.2 providing you have the username and license key, and I was wondering if I went ahead and bought the version that can be purchased online (v.3) would the username and license key work in v.2 instead?

I need to move on this quickly because my subscription to Zone Alarm Security Suite has expired and Zone Labs won't let me renew it unless I upgrade to one of their newer versions, which have gotten to be too much of a drain on system resources, plus full of problems. So I wanted to install NOD32 v.2 and Online Armor to replace my ZA product. It never occurred to me that ESET would make me call them on the phone to get it.

Yes . Buy a license for ESET NOD32 v3 or ESET Smart Security v3 and it allows you downgrade to an older version as long as your license is active .
You can use v2.7 if you want to :thumb:

    Possible solution found

There's a website called betterantivirus.com that sells all versions of NOD32 online. v.2.7 is still offered there as a free trial, or you can just buy it for the same price as the most recent version. Has anyone here heard of them or bought from them?

    Oh, good!

Glad to know that the key would work in v.2.7. I'd really rather get it directly from ESET's website if I could, just in case of problems.

This web-site belongs to a ESET reseller in USA/Canada . He is registered here as webyourbusiness. Don't worry , the site is legitimate :thumb:

The license you will buy from them will still be for v3 . All licenses are given from ESET's system.

    Reseller

Good to know that they are legit. But on the site I learned that they send you a temporary username and password first, then the real ones after they process your order. Just a little more trouble than getting the real ones the first time around.

Glad to read you got it worked out. I hate when companies are closed on weekends but oh well thats life. Programs worth the wait.

I took HiTech_Boy's suggestion and was able to buy my license online at the ESET website, and when I got the email from ESET with the info I needed to download the installer, I was surprised to see that there was a also a link in it to download v.2.7 if I wanted to instead of v.3.

But I couldn't use that link in the end, because it said it was for Windows 98. I had to use a different link on the ESET website to get the version of 2.7 that works for XP. Hopefully all will work out now that I've got what I needed.

During the week orders are processed constantly - evenings and weekends they are done every few hours, but there is a chance late at night that you might have to wait until the morning. The 'temporary' gets you through until the final license arrives. This is considerably better than waiting with nothing.

If/when Eset implements an API so we can pump these directly into their ordering system, we'll be realtime. I am not holding my breath as we have been asking for it for years. They even flat out said that they don't have it as a high priority as it would take sales from their own store, which is odd - as a sale is a sale and it was resellers who got Eset this far, plus the good product of course.

I am sorry you think it an extra step - 30,000+ customers have gone this route without a hitch - we sell a lot of licenses this way!
