Just like to say a big thanks to Jason for another great and wonderful software, this is the best, most stable and friendly firewall I have tried to date. I have pretty much ditched ZoneAlarm Pro, and currently trying out Outpost Pro, through I have tried others like InJoy along the way, but GhostWall is way the best as you can really just set-and-forget.

I'm honestly frustrated with the current generation of firewalls, they are over bloated and full of features I dont want or need, they are unstable and seem to forget the settings, either that or I feel I'm in a constant battle trying to keep control of the settings, I set the settings how I want, when I check back they have been forgotten or changed (

I love GhostWall because its everything they are not, easy to use once you learn about the rules, a joy to use because it remembers the rules and doesnt interfere with them, basically GhostWall is user friendly, theres no wars or battles with the settings, its our lil' friend indeed )

I cant wait for future versions, which comes as a shock, I mean with each version of ZonaAlarm Pro I stopped being excited, I started to hope and pray that it would get better, and now with my lil' GhostWall I'm finally looking forward again to each version actually getting better.......not worse, I really cant wait and see what features Jason will add next, whatever they will be I'm sure they will be what we need and want, as oppossed to the rest of the pack that have lost their way. Jason deserves a really big thank you for everything he has done and is doing, Thanks Jason *

    Hugs and Kisses,
    Aimee xoxoxo

PS. I got a lil' bored with nothing to do and I replaced the GhostWall banner in the "About GhostWall" dialog box, a few minutes later and heres lil' snapshot:-

@Jason: Sorry for changing the banner, the original was nice through :D

Whatever Jason decides to do - or not do and leave well enough alone - with GhostWall he should always keep the KISS (keep it simple) and if-it-ain't-broke-don't-fix-it rule as a guide to those decisions.

@Chris12923: Thank you very much for your kind words and taking time out to look at the banner too, that was much appreciated. So heres to you and people like you who make forums such as this a really cool and good place to hang out in!

@AvianFlux: Well I'm sure that if we let Jason know the kinds of things we want or need in or from GhostWall that he will use his many years of wisdom programming to make the right decsions on what should or should not be added to GhostWall. Personally I feel he really does listern to or care about us the users of his software, so in the end I feel that he will make the right choices and do the right thing by us all!

    Hugs and Kisses,

Your most welcome Jason, thanks for another great program, its been really great playing with it :)

Well, as for scaring away the bad packets, I'm pretty sure at the very least it makes them think twice :D

Hmmm maybe if I get time I will trying making another one, through I have changed the odd button or two as well....haha, I will probably see if I can theme as much as possible, thats if I can tear myself away from other projects :)

Just a quick question through, when I was looking through RegDefend's resources I came across Bitmap 195 and 196, I hope you dont mind me asking but whats MutexDefend ?

    Hugs and Kisses,

    Hi Aimee,

MutexDefend was a dummy program I put into Ghost Security Suite so that certain hackers and reverse engineers would think that they know what the next component of Ghost Security Suite was going to be and spread the knowledge of such. Meanwhile, development of the real component is coming to a close. :)

I just uninstalled Sygate Pro today (thanks to Symantec), tried Lavasoft (promising, but no cigar yet - caused issues with TrojanGuard) and then I installed GhostWall. Thank you for such a promising and focused product. I am more than impressed that Gibson showed all ports (at least the lower thousand or so) stealthed. I made a rule to block ports 0&1, to allow Windows time, and set Windows Security Center to not warn me about the firewall - and viola (maybe at some point it will be recognized...)! Thanks again. I will be monitoring this forum and hope to be a regular participant. CHUCK :D

    Thanks Jason

Now that I've got my feet wet I do enjoy the set n forget nature of ghostwall. The simplicity and leaness are deeply appreciated.

There are few great lean stable applications out there anymore. I'll not be looking for more features in the app. Maybe some assistance in the setup would be welcome. The application itself seems to fully meet the need. Thanks
