Best security software

Here (best=strong but easy to use):

AV: AVIRA (heuristics) and F-secure (proactive)
anti-malware:SAS, Prevx
sandbox: DW
bb: Threatfire
firewall: Comodo
multi-purpose: OA

 

Well that's just your opinion. Others may vary.

If you decide to start such a thread, you could at least have expanded a little on why you choosed that apps.

PS: I don't see much future in this thread.

 

What is the point of this thread? There isn't one unless you are looking for other users to argue with you. The products you listed below are simply a matter of opinion and personal preference, nothing more.

I'd have to agree. Please expand on why they are easy to use. Comodo firewall for example dosent strike me as newbie friendly.

This is so true. If you want real security, and not just software layers above other software layers, you must first determine the possible attack vectors, based on your computing habits. Only then you should start thinking on what do you use for protection.

 

Very true, but beyond the capability of most.

 

There is no best security software IMO, they are all
- too vague or
- you don't know against what you are protected or
- incomplete, which means more security software or
- unuserfriendly, average users need protection, knowledgeable users know enough already or
- they look like gambling with security or
- use blacklists instead of whitelists or
- not good enough anymore for the new generation of malware
My best security softwares aren't even security softwares.

 

One can of course argue with some choices, but I stronly believe we can know a lot what is good/bad. Nobody would eg. suggest CA or spybot to such a list.

 

The best security apps are the ones that fit your specific needs.The security apps that cause no confilcs or bother you unless they need to inform you of a threat.No matter what security apps you choose always have a backup plan in place when all else fails,but lets not go there please.Imo the best is only the ones I like and that fit my specific needs and does not cause me any problems.
