Does anyone have a working lead to this newest release?

I tried an update this morning on AVZ 4.29 but was met with a notification that 4.29 is "outdated" and is recommended to download instead new version 4.30, but see no ENGLISH version for download, only Russian at this time.

Any ideas? This is a fanatastic suppliment app IMO and covers a huge amount of critical areas of scanning.

    Many thanks soccerfan.

While i fancy myself an expert on the english alphabet, when it comes to reversing and scrambling those same letters that make up another lingo, it might just as well be jibberish :)

My pleasure EASTER. Actually, I quite fancy this program (no installation required) and have been using it since v4.25.

AVZ is the result of some intelligent work of a high level Kaspersky fellow who is put it together for the benefit for us all. And it shows.

Theres a lot of nice features in AVZ and is really been one of those useful suppliments that cover quite an array of items.

Little is been made of it over the months but i been solidly behind it ever since it first cropped up and i've ever since made it a important part of my forensic profiling of systems.

What is this thing anyways? Anti-spyware? A brief description would be nice.

    Thank you.

I am trying to read through the translation. It looks like AVZ uses the signatures of Ad-aware and Trojan Hunter. Also has some sort of heuristic scanner and there is some rootkit scanner. Also monitors drivers and processes and has some sort of system guard and direct disk access to locked files. This sounds like some real time protection- is that right? Anything else to add or correct from the above in my post?

You know. funny thing, i always knew it had that protection feature built-in but in all honesty i never even tried it but instead relied on it's scan findings in the routine scan as well as the many Service Scans it runs.

This app is extremely accurate and a Must Have* for any security collectors toolbox and useage.

No, AVZ is too early for me due to my lack of knowledge and I've other more urgent problems that need to be fixed, like searching for a firewall, which I do understand and learning ThreatFire, which I don't understand either yet.
Don't worry about it, I seem to get smarter every month. :D

    I have been.

Ever since it was first released, and i've liked it ever since even though it went absent for a short time, it's back again gladly.

What an awesome tool. Thank you! Interpreting the findings becomes quite a challenge. The scan I ran produced two "Suspicion for Rootkits", but they turned out to be an avast self protection module and a TrueVector device driver.

Two suspected keylogger or trojan dlls were found, but one was ThreatFire and the other a-squared. To the program's credit, it did say "Behavior typical for keyloggers not detected" after identifying these two as suspicious.

The amount of information provided is inspiring: Vulnerabilities in the form of potentially dangerous services allowed and a troubleshooting wizard that shows questionable browser security settings, to name a couple.

I also found some basic instructions for configuring the scan tool, that may be of help to some. Remember to click on the webupdate icon before scanning.

--> Under the search parameter tab, change the heuristic analysis mode to "Maximum heuristics level" and tick the box next to "Extended analysis
--> Make sure that the following options are selected
    Detect API hooks and rootkits
    Check SPI / LSP settings
    Search for keyloggers
Search for TCP/UDP ports used by trojan horses
--> Make sure the following options are not selected
    Block user-mode rootkits
    Block kernel-mode rootkits
    Automatically correct SPI/LSP errors
    Perform healing
--> Under the file types tab select all files
--> Under the search range tab, select the following options
    Check running processes
    Heuristic system check
--> Make sure that all the Disks listed are selected
--> Click start and wait for the scan to finish
