Let’s see how Antivirus vendors reacted to the latest ITW worm Fizzer! How fast they were... ;)

    8 May

    Panda Software (Panda Anti-Virus)

    9 May:

    F-Secure

    Sophos (Sweep)

    GeCad (Reliable Anti-Virus)

    Symantec (Norton Anti-Virus)

    10 May:

    Kaspersky

G Data AVK 12 pro version

    12 May:

    Trend Micro (PC-cillin)

    Network Associates (VirusScan)

    Computer Associates (eTrust, InoculateIT)

    H+BEDV (AntiVir Personal Edition)

    Grisoft (AVG)

    Frisk Software (F-Prot)

    Eset (Nod32)

    14 May

G Data AVK 12 Standard Version

Conclusion: Unless virus is detected heuristically, 1 day could be too late...

Well, tumbs up to Panda, but as Tinribs said, very poor & too late from some of the others.
Correct me if im wrong, but isnt Panda almost always one of the first
to provide defs. when a new virus is found.??
    Regards
    Ole

    To everyone from Firefighter!

What is the value of "in the Wild" tests everywhere?

Because I don't know how many days those so called "in the Wild viruses" have been free in the web, before they have been tested in VirusBulletin, it makes me suspicious to the so called "in the Wild" tests!

If you haven't good heuristics scanner with as large virusbase as possible, you are in trouble!

My choice is F-secure as my resident and it is after that not so bad choice! :D

"The truth is out there, but it hurts!"

    Best Regards,
    Firefighter!
