What I'm learning from this test and from the Dennis Technology Labs tests, posted here previously, is that different "real world" security tests can give really different results. The different tests are apparently sensitive to different issues to give extremely different results.

The differences in product results between the two tests establishes only one thing with certainty IMO: neither test can be said to be representative of the real "real world".

Problems -- I'm not an expert on this, but I sure would like to hear true expert views on why the differences in the test scores. I suspect one problem is the number of samples probably wasn't large enough in either test case to be representative of real world, or perhaps not large enough to give statistical significance corresponding to the results presented. I also wonder about the methodologies for selection of samples, and representativeness of samples used.

Thank you for any insight, analysis, and/or comments you can provide.

Nice to see version numbers in the appendix of this test. That's something I feel is missing from the Dennis Technology Labs report. It gives a better perspective as to which release of the products were actually tested.

I agree more testing needs to be done, but that being said, I tend to trust AV-TEST more so than Denis Labs. Now that is just my personal opinion.

It impressesd me with the result of the Norton's product, as well indeed the Webroot's one. I only use those two without any other security software. I must look content now.
