Yea I'm from Australia too. Just bloody expensive from vendor websites. It just seems so much cheaper if you goto different overseas vendors and buy a license there.

i got a decent OEM f-secure price too.

also, my 4 years of AVG suite were pretty cheap too..

and lets not forget 50% off Drweb prices are great too.

F-Prot is $29 US for up to 5 computers, which works out to less than $6 per computer.:thumb:

That price can be beat only by the free AVs, especially for those with multiple system households.

NOD for example would cost $119.99 for 4 computers for a year.

    According to the latest Av-Test;

    F-Prot 986961 96,3% for $29

    Nod32 953936 93,1% for $119

Seems a pretty simple choice to me anyway

i reallllllly think the results are totally flawed.

    99.4% Avast - FREE!

would seem a better choice.... lol

Yes, that is true LOL. I prefer F-Prot's Heuristics by far over Avast. F-Prot also has less FPs

AV is obsolete.. everything goes into direction anti-rootkit. Beside F-Prot heuristic is really fun.

but if you are to believe in these tests,

avast heuristics were better than Fprots - 37/33%

    also

fprot scored high on FP's, more than Drweb and fprots new heuristics were not even tested. :shifty:

these huge tests are ........ controversial

Let's stick to the threads intended purpose and save the AV comparisons\anti-rootkit discussion for appropriate threads Please.

    Thanks,
    Bubba

Well there is a special offer for Vista users of Zonealarm. 20 USD for ZA antivirus and 50 USD for ZA Internet Security for 3 users. Not a bad deal.

The interesting thing is that I have been a NOD32 user for three years. My licence expired on the 19th. January. Did I hear a peep from Eset? Did I heck as like.
No interest in keeping their loyal customers, I think.

So -- I'm on an Avira trial. If I like it, (it's MUCH cheaper than any version of NOD32 ) they will probably have a customer.

Plus f-prot also supports server 2003 which is great for people like me. I can protect my home server for $6 a year instead of the hundreds of dollars it would cost me to use most other av's.

To me, the best bargain (other than free subscriptions) is still KAV 7.0 (download) on Ebay for U.S. $10.35 for a 1 machine 1 year subscription. The seller, goldenmedalexports, has a 100% positive rating from more than 1500 transactions (including a couple with me). That should tell you something.
