    Bad Habits by Sign:
    by Stephanie Dempsey

    Nobody's perfect - all signs have their vices. Fortunately, astrology provides valuable clues for breaking bad habits. Ending these patterns will help you realize your full potential. Here are some tips for conquering those negative behaviors that get in the way of your ultimate happiness.

    • Aries Out in Front
    Rams have a habit of pushing to the front of the line, both literally and figuratively. And while this quality has helped Aries get ahead, it can also compromise their relationships. Putting an animal, child or plant in their care can correct the problem. As soon as this sign's nurturing qualities are cultivated, their selfishness will diminish.
    ~~~
    Aries Sign Profile
    Have you ever watched two rams butting heads on one of those nature programs? A picture is worth a thousand words, Aries. You ''take charge'' because people born under your sign are natural leaders, and you are indefatigable (you make good doctors or explorers). But you can be self-centered and impatient when faced with others who are slow or moderate. Sometimes, though, you are unwilling to get your horns locked in battle, and it's then that you avoid confrontation. Arians are very strainghtforward, usually intellectual, objective and in search of challenges. You're very passionate in the bedroom, but sometimes that hunger can drive you to promicuity. While that may have questions about their mates, Arians are extremely devoted to their offspring. Got a headache? It's no surprise-your sign rules the head. And be careful, because those born under aries are prone to accidents. A listing of famous Arians in reveling of your nature. On the dark side, Adolf Hitler was an Aries, But, then again,so was Thomas Jefferson
    • Taurean Trash
    Bulls love clutter. Being surrounded by all their possessions gives them a sense of security. It also creates headaches, confusion, and chaos. Storage systems that keep their stuff on display will prevent this sign from strewing their stuff all over the house. Stacking baskets, glass jars, and open shelving can promote organization.
    ~~~
    Taurus Sign Profile

    Are you the steady, lovable bovine chewing its cud out in the field, or a raging bull ready to gore the matador? Both of those possibilities can be attributed to the Taurus, a ''bull-headed'' sign because of its extremely strong sense of will and determination. Not the most intellectual sign, the bull nevertheless can be incredibly hard-working, affectionate and loyal. Taureans are creatures of comfort who like to wine and dine luxuriously, sometimes to the point of overindulgence. They also are attracted to the arts and occasionally excel in painting or singing. Taurus can be depended upon in the workplace and works well as a team player. He or she is pretty conventional sexually, but has a healthy appetite. Because the bull's sign is the closest to the earth, acquiring things is high on Taureans' priority lists. The neck is a vulnerable area for Taurus, so take care of sore throats. Famous Taureans: Shakespeare, Freud, Fred Astaire and Barbara Streisand.

    • Nerve-Wracking Twins
    Geminis are the nail-biters of the zodiac. Twins are self-conscious about their hands, and need to keep them busy at all times. Activities like knitting, carving, or bead work provide welcome distractions. Weekly manicures will also keep temptation at bay. Twins are less likely to gnaw their cuticles when they've just paid for their upkeep!
    ~~~
    Gemini Sign Profile
    The attractive, super-intelligent Gemini leads a double life, which has its good and bad points. With thousands of ideas and projects on the table, Gemini's attempts to do them all could be described as either ''versatile'' or ''flighty.'' Those born under this sign have a great sense of humor and are great drinking buddies, because they've mastered the art of conversation. Don't expect much loyalty from them, though, especially if you're in a relationship with one. The Gemini's needs supercede those of everyone around them. This doesn't mean that they're unfeeling monsters. They may be generous in some ways, trying to ''save the whales'' or take on other causes, as long as they don't impede the Gemini's self-interests. Geminis can succeed in just about anything they set their minds to and have an affinity for artistic pursuits. When they are in ruts, Geminis become a bundle of nerves. There are a lot of famous Geminis: Marilyn Monroe, Judy Garland, Bob Hope, John F. Kennedy and Bob Dylan,to name a few.
    • Cancers and the Candyman
    If you've ever wondered how Cancers stay so sweet, take a look at their sugar intake. This sign loves cookies, candy, and ice cream. An occasional indulgence is fine, but too much dessert can take a toll on waist lines and energy levels. What Crabs are really seeking is oral gratification. Sugar-free gum or dried fruit provides a healthy distraction from candy crunching.
    ~~~
    Cancer Sign Profile

    It's easy to spot a Cancer by their round faces. That physical characteristic reflects the soft, affectionate nature of this sign. Cancers are very much about home and security and nurture. The crab can be a bit of a packrat, because he or she may attach emotional value to things others may consider junk. They can be overly emotional, and they tend to fantasize about the past and what it meant for them. Cancers are incredibly loyal as mates, but don't ever tell them what to do. Sometimes Cancer is very sociable, but sometimes they need their alone time. This sign is very giving, but has a tough time receiving the generosity of others. Because of their nurturing qualities, they are great at jobs in which they take care of others, such as nursing. Cancers are prone to all sorts of illness, but female crabs should pay special attention to their reproductive systems. Famous Cancers include Princess Diana, Nelson Mandela and Mike Tyson.

    • Lavish Leos
    The guy who's sitting next to you in the elegant restaurant, shouting to his personal assistant on his cell phone? Probably a Leo. It's only natural that a sign that is blessed with creativity, charm and wit feels tempted to show off. Actually, this desire to brag is rooted in insecurity. The sooner Lions learn to compliment others, the quicker they'll receive the praise they crave.
    ~~~
    Leo Sign Profile
    It's no coincidence that this astrological sign is associated with the lion, because these people have the courage, dominant personality and charisma of the ''king of the jungle.'' First of all, Leos crave attention. When Leos know what they're after, they'll pounce on and capture their prey. But all the characteristics that make lions so attractive can really work against them, if they're not careful. Take note, everybody-there are Leos in town, and they can be extremely arrogant, overbearing and boorish. Lions also have a huge lust for power. They like bigwig positions in government or large companies, as long as they get top dog-er, cat--billing. This feline sign also has a gargantuan appetite in the bedroom, and Leos are able to attract many attractive partners. In health matters, beware of heart disease, Leo. Famous Leos include Napoleon, George Bernard Shaw and (no surprise here!) Mae West.
    • Virgos Fear Filth
    These nit-pickers sometimes compromise their own pleasure for the sake of perfection. Deep down inside, these folks are really sensualists at heart. They need to learn that it is better to feel good than to look good. Allocating a few minutes each day for fun but messy activities like baking, painting, or sculpting can cure Virgos of their fear of filth.
    ~~~
    Virgo Sign Profile

    This sign's keyword is precision. Organization, cleanliness and order possess Virgos, and they can be very pedantic in their search for perfection. They like certainty in life and analyze everything, down to the most minute detail, before making a decision. The Virgo has a thirst for intellectual enquiry, is attracted to history and has a knack for speaking languages. People born under this sign are capable of undertaking a variety of vocations, but they may choose to write an encyclopedia or a dictionary. Virgos can be very charming and attractive, and they are devoted to family and children. Still, Virgos can be incredibly self-possessed, and they may worry themselves to death, despite their cool, carefree exterior. The Virgo likes exotic food but has a delicate stomach. Take care of your plumbing, male Virgo. Famous Virgos include Lauren Bacall, Claudia Schiffer, Van Morrison, Michael Jackson and D.H. Lawrence.

    • Libras Love to Shop
    Librans gave birth to the term "shopaholic". These folks have every credit card known to man. And while their taste is undeniably impeccable, it can get them in trouble at bankruptcy court. What's really at stake here is a quest for beauty. Enjoying simple but inexpensive pleasures like nature walks and museums can quell the urge to splurge.
    ~~~
    Libra Sign Profile
    Balance, balance, balance. Librans like high-wire acts-it's all about balance as they coolly make it to the other side. Some believe that Libra derives power from showing up at harvest time. This sign makes a good peacemaker-Libra might consider working for the U.N., as he or she is incredibly adept at engineering compromise. Or, you might consider a job in journalism, as you're extremely objective. In fact, Librans strive for civility and avoid argument at all costs. Sometimes Libra is a bit too easygoing and may be considered lazy. Try to be more confident about making decisions, Libra. Your sign really enjoys feeling good, and you can get too wrapped up in those feelings, thus sacrificing your responsibilities. Take care of your back and kidneys. Famous Librans include Sarah Bernhardt, Franc Liszt and Bruce Springsteen.
    • Strictly Scorpios
    Nobody carries a grudge better than this sign. Unfortunately, hanging on to resentments has a way of crowding out love, happiness, and trust. In order for a Scorpio to let go of anger, they must first practice self-care. Getting a massage every month or writing in a journal each day will soften this sign's heart and enable forgiveness.
    ~~~

    Scorpio Sign Profile

    When you meet Scorpios, should you sing their praises or head for the hills? The scorpion is blessed with an incredible sense of imagination, intuition and sexual passion. They perform a kind of stealth operation, hiding their intense emotional energy and power by giving off an air of indifference. People born under this intellectual sign make good leaders, but they are incredibly self-centered and insensitive to others' shortcomings. They have very short tempers and may be unappeasable rebels, oftentimes despising the establishment. Scorpios are good at doing research and solving mysteries. They also can be very persuasive in the courtroom. Scorpios are renowned for their ''sting'' in bed, which is a mixed blessing. This reputation can be their downfall if they become victims of their intense passion. Is it any surprise that this sign rules the pelvis? Famous Scorpions include Theodore Roosevelt, Prince Charles and Marie Antoinette.

    • Brutally Honest Sagittarius
    Archers have a bad habit of telling the truth. And while these folks have the best intentions, that doesn't take the sting out of comments like, "Gee, those pants make you look fat!" or "Were you drunk when you wrote this report?" The best way for Archers to cultivate tact is through prodigious study. Etiquette books will definitely help!
    ~~~
    Sagittarius Sign Profile
    If an acquaintance, friend or relative of yours is a Sagittarius, you'll know it. Feisty Sagittarians overflow with life force and, in general, have an incredibly positive attitude. They're fun to be around because they can be quite boisterous, but their boundless energy also can manifest itself in a tactless display of unsolicited advice. This sign is incredibly concerned with outward appearances and what other people think. Sagittarians drive Cadillacs, BMWs and Jaguars. Sagittarius might consider a career as a race car driver. They are natural jet-setters and frequent visitors to Club Med or Rome. This sign is very loyal in both friendship and marriage. They have tight control over their sexual desires. Be patient, Sagittarius--sometimes your expectations of others and their deeds are too high. Famous Sagittarians include Frank Sinatra, Winston Churchill, Jim Morrison and Mark Twain.
    • Capricorns Can't Quit
    This sign is the original workaholic. Many Capricorns fear that poverty will set in the moment they stop toiling. Keeping a gratitude journal can break this terrible habit. The more Capricorn becomes aware of their non-material blessings, the healthier their behavior will become. No more cutting vacations short for the sake of work!
    ~~~
    Capricorn Sign Profile

    Goats are not just stubborn animals that eat the laundry off your clothesline. Capricorns are about stability and persistence. This sign is an incredibly hard worker that will toil at a task like an experienced craftsman until it's done. Capricorns also are blessed with a sense of organization; they might make good project managers. Just don't put them in human resources, because this sign's people skills are unpredictable. Stay within the rules if you work with people born under this sign. Can you say ''mood swing?'' Sometimes that means they'll be lovably loony and spontaneous for no apparent reason. They can be slightly self-absorbed and don't have many friends, but they are very loyal to the ones they do have. On the upside, Capricorn is very logical and has an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. They make good teachers. Famous Capricorns include Richard Nixon, Edgar Allen Poe and Elvis.

    • Antisocial Aquarius
    Water-bearers get into the habit of creating completely self-sufficient lives. Unfortunately, this makes it difficult for them to achieve intimacy. Basically, Aquarians are afraid that relationships will compromise their independence. Fortunately, these folks love to experiment. By treating intimacy as an exercise, this sign can relinquish control for the sake of loving relationships.
    ~~~
    Aquarius Sign Profile
    Endowed with calm, peaceful personalities, Aquarians are the ultimate philanthropists and fighters of just causes. But that doesn't mean they don't like to draw attention to themselves-in fact, they thrive in the limelight. It's easy for Aquarians, because they have a magnetism stemming from their artsy, multi-talented and tolerant natures. Aquarius has so many diverse interests that he or she might seem pretentious. It can be tough to reel them in to complete a project they started months ago. Their acute sense of aesthetics means that Aquarians are good writers, photographers and actors. Then again, all that bohemian sentiment alienates them from the rest of society, and they might have a hard time finding their place in the world. Take special care of your legs and avoid the drink if possible, Aquarius. Famous Aquarians include Ronald Reagan, Oprah Winfrey, Abraham Lincoln and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
    • Pickled Pisces
    As a water sign, it's only natural that Pisceans find comfort in liquids. When those liquids have a high alcohol content, problems can ensue. Naturally, a twelve-step program can be of enormous benefit here. Meditation and yoga can help, too, as they allow Pisces to achieve a healthy sense of nirvana. That's all these Fish are really seeking.
    ~~~
    Pisces Sign Profile

    In some ways, it's hard to understand why Pisceans are so popular, because they're very ordinary and conventional. People are attracted to how easy going they seem. Pisceans may be accused of being overly emotional, but it's probably that same trait that makes them so compassionate, empathetic and bigger givers than receivers in friendship. When making decisions about work, love and family, Pisces is in search of the ultimate truth. Because they're governed by emotion, they don't make the best investment bankers or supervisors. This sign will most likely re-invent themselves, changing careers many times in a lifetime, because they're clever enough to get away with it. Some accuse the Pisces of being asexual. Learn to control some of your emotional anxiety with some sort of new-age activity, Pisces. You'll fend off your proclivity for stomach ulcers. Famous Pisceans include Cindy Crawford, Kurt Cobain and Elizabeth Taylor.

    Well, I was born on March 19.....Thats the last day of Pisces in the Zodiac, which gives me some Arian traits as well.

    The Pisces traits depicted are quite true about me, except that I'm not so ordinary or conventional, and I don't drink alcoholic drinks! Everything else fits perfectly. I specially like the part of continually changing jobs and being smart enough to get away with it, b'coz in a way I already did that (I recently changed my school).

    Quite some Aries traits fit in as well:

    I'm not always self centered, but I have my moments.....
