    Hello,

I downloaded AIM (AOL Instant Messenger) and I chose to install the AOL Explorer feature. Its 100% based on Microsoft Internet Explorer it says. I think it has a very nice interface and it works very fast and smooth but just curious if its spyware.

There is a review on this website: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1759,1842397,00.asp and it doesen't say that I read that its spyware.

But I want to check with you all for a second opinion :)

    Thank you,

    gracie :)

    Hi Gracie

I don't see any problem using it. While many people hate AOL, I still use it and have never seen them do anything like adding spyware.

I'm having a problem where websites are able to take files from my computer when I use AOL as my web browser. One of the solutions I was told to do was to disble the option "access data sources across domains" under the security tab of the internet options, while this prevents web sites from taking files when using Internet Explorer 6 as my web browser, it does not prevent web sites from taking my files when I use AOL even though AOL is based on internet explorer. I have tested AOL using www.hackerwhacker.com, and they seem to show all of my files on their website which means they have access to it. Does anyone know how to prevent this security hole? I need to use AOL since I have AOL broadband and its the only service available in my neighbourhood.

    Thanks
