I was responding to another poster. I think I know what a lot of people think about a lot of things but I like to make my own mistakes, TYVM. Anyway, I'm not the person who started twisting this thread away from Adobe Flash Player.

    Edit: It wasn't me (-http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2g5Hz17C4is-)

This is not really a problem. If you want Flash/Plugin container to be able to start and run sandboxed, in a restricted sandbox, in order to be able to watch flash videos, then you had to do what you did. If you were using a default setting sandbox, all programs are allowed to run, probably thats what you had before and its why you never saw a SBIE message about it.
Why do you think you have a problem?

An interesting update but also rather confusing. Might be a silly question, but did this update remove/change 64-bit support?

I'm unaware of the new potential sandboxing technicalities with this, but from what I've seen all previous indicators of a x64 version are gone now.
(downloaded installer lists x32 in the name, name no longer lists 64-bit in control panel's add/remove programs section)

    Anyone else experience/notice this? o_O

    Huh?

I've had start/run access and internet access to firefox.exe only ever since installing Sandboxie.....SBIE message just started recently with this newest Adobe Flash Player version, previous versions worked flawlessly even with a restricted sandbox.

    Re: Adobe Flash Player 11.3.3000.257

You probably never play videos in Youtube or sites like that cause if you did, you could not have done so before when you only allowed Firefox to Start/Run and connect. Whats important I think, its that you are OK, SBIE and Flash are working properly for you.

About seeing messages now and not before. Whenever I update to a newer Flash version, I start seeing messages about Flash wanting to connect since I don't allow Flash internet. The messages only stop when and if I open Firefox out of the sandbox. Its rare that I do but sometimes I go to the Flash settings website to check my settings on line. Then the message stops and I don't see it again when sandboxed.

If you don't want to see SBIE messages, they can be disabled if you like. Myself, I prefer to leave them on in my browsing sandboxes.

I noticed some changes here. This is where I get the installers that I use for Flash, it used to offer different installers for 32Bits and 64Bits, not anymore.

    Re: Adobe Flash Player 11.3.3000.257

I go on Youtube and other sites that use Flash everyday.......

Problems only started today after this version of Flash. I added flash player plug in.exe to the internet acces and start/run access and it seems to be working fine for now. I've never had to add Flash to the restrictions section in settings before and Youtube and other sites worked flawlessly

Also got a random SBIE message referring to werfault.exe or something like that randomly when on another forum.

    Re: Adobe Flash Player 11.3.3000.257

Same thing happened to me (Was getting the same popups). Since adding the plugin to the start/access restriction list, I no longer get the popups anymore. So, I can confirm that this indeed fixes it.

I am wondering if the sandbox change in flash has anything to do with it?

    Re: Adobe Flash Player 11.3.3000.257

I know that nothing is impossible but you should not be able to watch videos in Youtube if you are using a restricted sandbox and you do not allow Plugin container to Start and Run. Earlier you mentioned that you only allowed FF to start and run, when that's the case, no other program can do so, that's why its kind of strange if you were able to watch videos in a restricted sandbox where Plugin container is not allowed to Start/Run.

Maybe you like to read the section about Start/Run Access.

On XP nothing has changed as far as I can see, I believe the changes in Flash affect other systems but SBIE restriction settings should be working exactly as before, no matter the system.

IIRC, I think I disabled plugin container in about:config.

Thank you Radeon for confirming it.

    Auto Updating blocking

I declined to install the service, as the last thing i want are AU's from stuff like Adobe :D

    fl.gif

Tested it on various www's including YT, & it works just fine without it :)

If you also prefer to control AU's & you already installed the service , you could disble in Services, block it at your FW, or rename or delete the culprit FlashPlayerUpdateService.exe I renamed it as well ;)

    Re: Adobe Flash Player 11.3.3000.257

Ok, ran into another problem. Flash seems to work now, but I get a running out of memory error of some sort?

Also, I'm now getting SBIE error about "werfault.exe" now...... and then Sandboxie and Firefox crash afterwards.

Should I add werfault.exe to start run access as well?

I was reading on the sandboxie forums that it has someting to do with Avast, but I don't even have that installed......Why did Adobe have to mess this version up with it's own sandbox or whatever.

I'm another one having problems running this in Sandboxie. I have added it to the start/run and it now works OK, previously it locked up the browser but I now have to terminate Firefox by right clicking the taskbar icon and "terminate all programs". The plug in container etc is listed in "Program stop - lingering programs" but when I close Firefox the only way to close the Sandbox is by right clicking the icon and "terminate all programs"

Maybe, you guys that are having trouble with Flash can disable protected mode and see if things get better afterward. Theres a thread in SBIE forum of someone else having issues, you can find the link with the explanation on how to do it in there. I am on XP and XP is not affected by the changes so I am not seeing anything strange. You can also open a new thread about what you are seeing.

I am using W7 pro x64 and it seems that it is the x64 systems that are having problems. I don't have the time to fiddle about with this at the moment so have gone back to the 11.2.202.235 version for now. As that runs in Sandboxie I'm not too worried about it for now.
