Supposedly a new realtime detection engine. Much improved (and largely re-written) engine. New notification system is also in place I have been told. Vastly reduced CPU/Memory usage to go along with this.

The product (for the time being - maybe not for long) is still a lifetime license for a single PC, and a friends/family lifetime license is still available for all PC's you own, or claim to own.

50% coupon code is "friends", which makes the license $14 (lifetime) for 1 user. Or $24 lifetime for 'unlimited' users on PC's you claim to own.

I run WP PLUS on my computers... it's a great system monitor.
And Bill Pytlovany is a developer most worthy of support. :thumb:

I really hope the front facing icons, as pictured in the screenshot aren't as blurry as it appears.

    Agreed.

It's pretty silly he would make a nice Metro-Looking interface, and then slap on old 8-Bit Icons.. I mean.. Really? You can license, or get free icon packages that offer some nice stuff, why use the old 8-bit ones bloomed up?

I hope he fixes that if he releases with them.. Sheesh.

  6. While WinPatrol Plus has not exactly been a powerhouse in terms of protecting a system, I've used it for a long time and I like it.

Looking forward to the new version.

I'll wait for a month or so for the kinks to be worked out before installing.

I just sent Bill an email, suggesting a clearer and sharper icon set for WinPatrol 2014.

    Hopefully he'll consider changing them.

I haven't run it in real-time for quite some time now but I continue to use it on demand for info as needed.

Agree that it is a worthwhile investment and useful utility.

Update: WinPatrol 2014 Preview is still expected to be released this week but our launch party is being delayed so testing of all current features have been fully completed. Thank you for your interest and sharing our excitement.

Hopefully that also means the delay to replace those 1990 fuzzy icons with some nice high definition ones? Bill needs to realize, not everyone is running WindowsXP anymore...

Having dealt with Bill for several years, I believe he will take care of it - he always does the "right" thing and runs a very dependable, reputable site. I have found him to be one of the "good guys"out there. :)

Looks bloody awful; I hope it can be changed.

I think keeping both themes (refreshed old and new) would satisfy large majority of users.

and would be a useless waste of programming resources.

Bill needs to do a 'real' metro style upgrade. Something like Kaspersky's, or Panda's new look. The one he is previewing is atrocious.

The icons and colors are ugly as hell. It's almost like a fusion of Metro and Classic. A mix of 2014 and dinosaur age. A marriage of geek-classy and geek-confused.

Why do people worry so much about what a software looks like?......I base my software choices on what they do for me....."Its a very good software, but, well I won't use it because its not pretty enough"
