Is it only me who has noticed that either there are NO virus updates on the weekend or just rarely an update. There are two AV's on this machine an nither get updated on the weekend...both payed versions.

Does this mean that Viruses take the weekend off an our machines wont get infected or does it mean that the major AV vendors don't give a care if we get infected on the weekends but care more about saving money by giving their employee's the weekends off.
Am going to monitor this an when the time comes to re-new my AV it will be to one that does not abandon me on the weekends.

If anything 'big' happens during the weekends, I'm sure those AV vendors will release an update.

Hey Buddy........yes, I am sure you are right. Actually after further thought I felt rather stupid for making this post because no one should really need to depend an an AV program for sole protection. It would be nearly impossibe fpr my machine to get infected even without an AV. But their are those out there who lack total security coverage. LOL, an those who have no coverage so it does not matter if the AV people take off the weekends.

Beef...give me BEEF....where is the beef

How are you getting KAV to update hourly? My KIS 2006 beta is set to auto update and it updates twice a day usually. Never hourly. I suppose I could manually look for updates every hour but I think it's a bit much. I am curious though why yours updates every hour and mine doesn't.

The "auto" function of KIS 2006 updater, checks for updates every 2 hours. You can get kis to check for updates as little as every 20 minutes.

It looks for an update every hour, once in a while there wont be one but with the extended bases there usually is.
