TV player software?

Does anyone know of a TV Player program (for receiving & playing free online TV) that does NOT require the bloated monstrosity known as RealPlayer? I have Windows Media Player installed on my computer, of course, but I refuse to use RealPlayer.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

 

Have you looked at Miro?

 

I use Real Alternative. No bloat, just a basic player
(Media Player Classic) that will replace RealPlayer and play
streaming RealMedia files.

Not sure if that's what you are after, but it has always played everything
on any website I visited which said that RealPlayer was required.

 

Try this one for satallite tv on your computer. http://www.satellitetvtopc.com/ and it works with WMP.

 

Have you tried that yourself? I like to know something about quality and stability. Overall it looks damn good deal because then I don't have to pay those expensive TV taxes. Those channels are in internet and don't need any kind of TV receiver.

The satellite TV deal looks good but I already have all the *regular* tv channels via cablevision.

I found THIS TV player by searching at download.com. It's free but plays ads on the side at times. Also the number of TV channels is only average. However, it works really well & I actually like the fact that it's ad supported. The freebies I tried previously (such as "anyTV") let me run free for a short while, then started nagging me, & pulling TV stations off the free side & annotating them as being "for PRO customers only."

 

The pioneer in this field was Joost,the same people who developed Skype.
Still seems the best in everyway.
