Total Commander + Everything Total Commander can use Everything to display directory sizes "instantly". The file search dialog "Commands - Search / Alt+F7" is also able to use Everything. There are several options available at "Configuration - Options - Operation - Calculate space occupied by subdirectories - 'Everything'": If a stable version of Everything has been installed (currently: 1.4), enabling the above option is enough for Total Commander to make use of Everything. Note: A running instance of Everything is needed. If the "alpha" version (currently 1.5a) of Everything has been installed, the above doesn't work. Adding of the following line to the configuration-file of Total Commander "wincmd.ini" into the [Configuration]-section helps: UseEverythingInstance=1.5a Optional: If Everything is not running all the time, Total Commander is able to launch it. After adding of the following line to the configurafion-file "wincmd.ini" into the [Configuration]-section: Everything=c:\Program Files\Everything\Everything.exe -startup= Total Commander is being launched => Total Commander launches Everything. Note: If Everything is installed into a different location, the path above needs to be changed accordingly.
Thank you @mood for this tip. I don't use Everything but it's nice to know that integration is possible. I use Alt-Shift-Enter to calculate and display folders sizes on demand (when needed).
